PERSONAL
STATEMENT

Education is very important medium of acquiring the knowledge and skills and plays a
very crucial in shaping the career of the people. It lays a foundation stone for my future. This is
the first and foremost right of any individual and empowers us intellectually to interact with
others in our life. My name is PQR and I want to pursue HND in the construction and built
environment in civil engineering from ABC college of UK because it is one of the highly rated
and recognised college which provides better opportunities for future through their tremendous
options and better education. This course is very essential for me because it will provide me with
a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills alongside the development of the
requisite knowledge and understanding required by employers and professional bodies and is
designed to meet the needs of the relevant professional bodies within the Civil Engineering
Industry.
This college is my top most priority because I’m strongly confident that your College will
be the most appropriate place for me to gain the required knowledge and skills in order to
succeed in future. I believe that it will provide me with the opportunity to apply critical
reasoning and analysis techniques to solve Engineering problems, using Industry standards and
appropriate codes of practice, develop personal and business skills, enabling me to contribute to
the demands of a professional environment. Apart from this, I am highly confident and motivated
and have the stronger capabilities to work in team by supporting and supervising staff members.
From my earlier experiences, I have gained an enormous knowledge on surveying precast
proposed position and lithe cages, monitoring and ensuring health & safety procedures and
pointing and roofing fumier repair, facing brickwork, building cavity wall insert DPC and MPC,
tying wall, insulations, laying lintels doors and windows pointing weather struck. Also I have an
experience on knowledge of several establishing and transferring control point and level for
instance, grid lines setting out wall, brick work, and pots setting out and levelling surveying and
also setting out foundation pile, pile cap, raft piling, control levelling RC concrete, form work
grid lines, using AutoCAD for the accuracy and quantities and liaising with subcontractors and
Health & Safety Supervisors.
Handling the professional area of work is not an easy task and involves lot many skills in
the individuals. I take pride in performing the assigned tasks to higher standards and always
manage to complete them well ahead of schedule. I always prefer to thrive on new challenges
and experiments as I believe some of the greatest things are born out of challenges. I have the

ability to supervise and support staff members, as I’m able to establish and maintain effective
and positive working relationships. I possess excellent communication, problem solving,
negotiating and decision making skills, which I believe are the greatest strengths in me. I am a
hard working individual who enjoys taking challenges and risks and strongly believe in hard-
working to achieve set targets and goals.
