It analyzes the shifting power dynamics, with the decline of the West and the rise of non-Western civilizations. The essay highlights the role of cultural factors over ideologies and economics in intensifying conflicts, drawing examples from the two Koreas, Germany, Yugoslavia, and the Soviet Union. Running Head : ENGLISH ESSAY
The years after the occurrence of Cold War had witnessed the starting of the dramatic changes in
the identities and the symbols of the identities. There is the power balance which is shifting and
the West is declining in its relative influence. The Asian civilizations are on the verge of
expanding the military, economic and the political strength. On the other hand, Islam is
exploding the in a demographic manner having destabilized the consequences for the Muslim
countries along with their neighbors. At the same time, the non-Western civilizations are
properly reaffirming their own cultural value. In the context of post Cold War, the international
politics have become quite multi-civilizational and multi-polar. A wealthy and the democratic
society group was being led by the United States which was involved in an ideological,
pervasive, economic, political and the military competition
In the new world the most important, pervasive and dangerous conflict will not happen between
the rich and the poor, the social classes along with some other economically defined groups but
between the people who are from different cultural backgrounds. With the rise of population, the
division of the unions , there will be ethnic and tribal conflicts within the civilizations. There will
also be violence between the groups and the states from various civilizations that further carries
the potential for the escalation as the states are likely to rally for supporting their kin countries.
The clash of civilizations in Caucasus, Bosnia, Kashmir or Central Asia could turn into the
bigger wars. The cultural conflicts are extremely increasing and are likely to become more
dangerous than today which will be intensified through the cultural factors instead of the
ideologies or economics.
Also, in these years the culture has become both a unifying and the divisive factor. There
are people who are separated to the edge by different ideologies but then united by the culture. In
this regard, the example of the two Koreas and Germany with China can be taken as example.

The societies which are united by the historical conditions or the ideologies are divided by the
civilization on the other hand as Yugoslavia, Soviet Union and Bosania. Those counties that have
cultural affinities are cooperating politically and economically. The global organizations are
founded on the states having the cultural commonalities as the European Union who are found as
more successful than those organizations that try at the countries with different cultural base.
Hence, it is quite true that underlying values, the customs, the philosophical assumptions, the
social relations are highly different among the emerging and the existing civilizations. The
economic and the political differences are deeply rooted in the cultural differences.
Therefore, it can be said that similarly after 50 years the current events such as the rise of
population, the Brexit and the clash of civilization will increase forming a new international
system landscape. The clash will be there but without war and ammunitions. There will be cold
war again in an indirect way with the differences in values, ideologies and vision. Notably, I
believe that the second option will turn into reality because the current events such as clash of
civilization, Brexit and the population growth are shifting the states towards nationalism and
greater sovereignty.
