within the community. Class rank refers to the numerical academic standing of a student with
class as compared to other members of the class. The standing is made on the basis of
mathematical computation of that of the earned grades that is called grade-point average
(GPA). This essay argues that the elimination of class ranks within the local schools of
Round Rock ISD stops can help in benefitting the students.
The elimination of the class rank can take away the pressure that the students face in
the class. It has been found with the help of research that class rank helps in benefitting those
students who are in that of the top 10 % and the students having healthy GPA are hurt owing
to the class rankings. It has been brought out with the help of popular research that class rank
can help the students in achieving more and it can pave the path for that of higher level of the
proficiency. According to De Leeuw et al. (2015), the class rank does not enhance self-worth
and confidence of the students. Class rank does not increase the motivation of the students in
relation to learning and hence it can prove to be disadvantageous for the students of the high
schools in that of Round Rock ISD area. There are many high schools who have discarded
the element of rank who has been successful in getting into competitive universities. It has
been asserted by Westrick et al. (2015) that the class rank can harm the students as it can
eliminate students from being considered for that of admission. The class rank can hinder the
entrance of a student into honours college or that of a specialized program.
Differences in that of grade point between the student who ranks No 1 and the student
who ranks 25 will be miniscule in the case of highly competitive schools. According to
French et al. (2015), the class rankings being offered can cause the colleges to look in a

be disastrous for the future of the students. The educators would be able to develop the talent
of the system of awarding ranks within the ambit of high school is abolished. The educators
would be able to help the students meet the high standard in relation to excellence in the
event of the class rank being abolished.
The giving of class rank can pave the path for the creation of unhealthy competition in
between the students. The class rank does not help in defining a student and the colleges can
see the entire student in the event of abolishing the class rank. The competition of achieving a
high class rank can be a positive thing but it can also pave the way for increasing competition
in the high school. According to Dobbie and Fryer Jr (2014), there exists a lot of competition
when the students have to enter into that of college and giving the class rank can create a lot
of unwarranted pressure on the students that can hamper their development. Class rank can
create distraction among the students of Round Rock ISD and so it should be done away with
by the high school system. The unhealthy competition can prove to be unnecessary and it can
distract the students from significant objectives. According to Cooper (2014) that the class
rank can force the people to work against their wishes that can hamper their development
within the ambit of the high school. The giving of the class rank does not help the students to
focus on their future and the career path. It can take away the attention of the students from
that of higher accomplishment in life. The determination of class rank does not help students
in achieving higher level of that of proficiency.

It can however be said that giving the class rank in that of the high schools of Round
Rock ISD area can help in the application process of the students. It can prove to be useful in
judging the merit of the student that can help them in the selection of the students. It can be
said that GPA is necessary but it can promote unnecessary competition in between the
students of the high school. There are however many people who think that the competition
can compel the students to perform more effectively that can augment their academic
performance. Class ranks can help in the determination of the honours awards in the high
school that can prove to be of crucial importance for future of the students.
Eliminating class rank can help in the elimination of student pressure that can only
benefit the students who occupy the top 10 %. The class ranking can harm the GPA of the
students. Class rank does not help in increasing motivation in relation to the students so the
awarding of the rankings can be disadvantageous in relation to high school student of that of
