INTRODUCTION
Leadership refers to the process under which direction and guidance is
individual or group of individuals. Management refers to the process under
which planning, organizing, staffing, directing and control of actions are
performed. Leadership and management are important because while
individuals are working in an group, then they need some direction in
which business operations can be performed.

P1 Different classical management theories
Classical management theory refers to the technique which is based on belief of
employees regarding their physical and economic need. There are different
theories of management through which business operations of Wa- Pila Hotel has
to be understood. There with the help of these theories positive impact can be
achieved.

Scientific theory- Scientific
management theory is propounded by
Fredrick Taylor providing four
different elements i.e. division of
labour, eight bosses system,
Bethlehem experiment, health
management.
Bureaucratic theory- This theory was
launched by Max Weber in 19th
century. As per this theory of
management, managers has view that
bureaucracy is better than traditional
structure.

There are different types of organizational structure such as centralized,
decentralized, unitary, divisional, matrix, etc. Culture of organization is
very important because this is important in current environment.

Power culture- As per this culture, there is some people who have power to take
decision. They can perform actions by taking decisions on their own. If this culture
is followed by mangers, then there are possibilities of dissatisfaction among some
employees of Wa- Pila Hotel.
Role culture- As per this culture, roles and responsibilities are provided to
employees as per their skills, qualities, experience, etc. If this culture is followed by
managers of Wa- Pila Hotel, then there is improvement in quality of services.

There are different leaders and managers which assist in performing actions in
better and effective manner. Wa- Pila Hotel is the association which deals in
hospitality sector, so it is essential to have effective manager and leaders which
is specific and relevant in context of understand changes.

Democratic leadership style-
There is requirement of democratic leadership style at Wa- Pila Hotel because in
this way there are some power to employees related to taking decisions. When
employees have power, then they give their best because they are accountable
for their actions. In this style, leader participates in working operations and
equal rights are available to all the individuals.

In Past there was use of autocratic leadership because there is lack of knowledge among
employees and growth of business is not only that much., hence it is easy for one person
to perform operations with effectiveness.
In present, there is use of democratic leadership in which there is interference of employees
as well.
In future, there will use of laissez- faire because in this there is no control of top level
management and operations are performed by subordinates by taking decisions at their
own.

be done in effective and efficient manner. Management assist in completing
business operations through proper planning, organising, staffing, etc. are done
to get positive impact. There are different style of leadership such as
