Climate conditions during the wet and dry season in Suco Holarua.
Situated in southeast Asia, Suco Holarua is a piece of Maritime Southeast Asia.
The neighborhood climate is tropical and for the most part hot and muggy, portrayed by
particular wet and dry seasons. Suco Holarua experiences wet season from December to May
and a dry season from June to November. The wet season is majorly characterized by 100 mm
rainfall for every month whereas for the vast majority of the dry season rainfall is recorded
below 30 mm.
Suco's climate is influenced by the West Pacific Monsoon guided by significant
temperature variations between the land and the sea. The West Pacific Monsoon travels north to t
Asia in the Southern Hemisphere winter and south to Australia in the Southern Hemisphere
summer. Its seasonal onset more often than not brings a switch from exceptionally dry to wet
conditions. The typical south-easterly trade winds in Suco are substituted by westerly winds from
the onset of monsoon until the end of monsoon season (Dawson, Wallace, & Sundaram 2012).
The yearly climate variations in the area are caused by the El Niño–Southern
Oscillation and the Indian Ocean Dipole which occurs in two phases: El Niño and La Niña
(Vachette 2017). El Niño is characterized by dry conditions, brief and delay of the beginning of
the wet season. During La Niña, precipitation during dry season appears to exceed normal levels
causing a short and earlier onset of the wet season. The wet season during this time is prolonged.
