CLIMATE CHANGE 1
Climate Change in Australia
Thesis statement
The research is based on identifying the role of greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2 in
increasing climate change of Australia.
The researchers and experts suggest that climate change originates from human activities
only because of increasing greenhouse gases in the environment that causes climate change
such as CO2. It is because the key reason for climate change is global warming which is
driven by the greenhouse effect (Change, 2014). It is worth noted that the greenhouse effect
is a result of human actions that are disturbing nature majorly that also causes increase in
CO2 emissions. From a socio-economic perspective, there are certain human activities that
widely affect the environment which includes their daily activities such as burning of fossil
fuels, deforestation, reflections in earth’s surface and emissions from burning of fossil fuels
have a negative impact on the environment (Flynn, et al., 2018).
Here, human actions have considerably enhanced greenhouse gas proportions in the earth’s
surroundings in daily living such as use of vehicles, burning of fossil fuel, use of fuel in
manufacturing process and others. In this context, greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide
(CO2), methane and nitrous oxide are constantly increasing day by day. The concentration of
the aforementioned greenhouse gases has risen from a huge proportion recently (NASA,
2019).

In Australia, human activities have contributed in increasing greenhouse gases in the
environment that is increasing global warming on a global basis. In addition, many human
and natural factors are influencing climate change. For instance, developed nation Australia is
full of people living a technology-driven lifestyle (Flynn, et al., 2018). Due to this, people
resist change as it has become part of their life even if it is beneficial for them in terms of
security and food. Moreover, power plants are also emitting harmful gases and smoke in the
environment which further gives rise to overall temperature and thereby global warming
(NASA, 2019).
It has been found by the researchers that socio-economic perspective on climate change
suggests that the first cause generated by human actions is trapping heat, whereas the second
one is increasing energy translating into heat (Urry, 2015). In addition to that, volcanic
events, as well as human made pollutions, are injecting sunlight-reflecting aerosols which are
creating causes of the greenhouse effect in the earth’s atmosphere. People of Australia have
become unconcerned about the climate change are from the minority classes and believe in

common good and justice (Hall, 2019). In this way, it can be said that daily human activities
often contribute to climate change by causing changes into the earth’s atmosphere in the
concentration of greenhouse gases, cloudiness, and aerosols (Edenhofer, 2015). Moreover,
the people’s resistance can come from their religious values and beliefs which persuades
them to get away from the reality.
In whole, people in Australia are giving rise to greenhouse gases as well as aerosols with
their daily life actions hence they should evolve their daily life activities and habits
effectively. The socio-economic perspective on the human activities certainly have a negative
impact on the environment and people resist the climate concerns even if it can be highly
beneficial for their health.
