Is Climate Change a result of human activities?
INTRODUCTION
Today humas are directly/ indirectly influencing climate and overall temperature of earth.
Various studies have provided evidences that most of the human activities are resulting in drastic
climatic change. This essay will focus upon exploring whether human activities have resulted in
climate change or not. In this essay various arguments will be provided in order to support this
argument by evaluating various research studies.
MAIN BODY
Causes of climate change
There are various causes because of which climate change is occurring continuously. But
one of the main drivers of climate change is greenhouse effect (Causes of climate change, 2021).
As compared to naturally occurring atmosphere in changes greenhouse is one of the main factors
because of which climate change is occurring and this greenhouse effect is further leading to
global warming because of which overall temperature of earth is also increasing drastically. This
greenhouse effect act as a glass in earth atmosphere that traps sun’s heat on earth because of
which overall temperature of earth is increasing drastically. but one of the main reasons because
of which these greenhouse gases is increasing drastically is due to human activities (Causes of
climate change, 2021).
Due to these human activity’s gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and
fluorinated gases are increasing in quantity drastically. Out of all the four gases CO2 is the largest
producer of greenhouse effect as a result due to this, solar radiations are changing, 0.1. C total
temperature of earth is increasing year by year (Causes of climate change, 2021). Some of the
most common activities because of which it is CO2 is increasing are: Buring coal, oil, gases,
cutting down of trees also known as deforestation, increasing livestock farming, increasing
emission of Fluorinated gases.
Effect of human activities on climate
According to an article named ‘What is climate change? A really simple guide’ human
society is one of them most important and biggest reason because of which climate is changing.
Due to these human activities, carbon dioxide emission is increasing, temperature is increasing,
polar ice is melting continuously because of which drastic climatic change is occurring (BBC,

2020). As per BBC report it was identified that due to human activities temperature of earth is
rising much faster as compared to previous times. Due to human activities not only temperature
of earth is increasing but it is further resulting in increasing in sea level due to melting of glaciers
(BBC, 2020).
If human do not bring changes within their activities, then it will lead to rapid, far-reaching
and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society and changes within climate will be become
more unpredictable which is extremely harmful for both humans and earth (BBC, 2020). People
are not understanding that their activities are affecting client and this change in climate will
eventually affect all human and mostly in negative manner. Some of the most drastic effects of
this climatic change upon human are: shortage of fresh drinking water, alteration of one’s own
ability to produce food, increasing number of deaths due to natural occurrence or disaster such as
flood (BBC. 2020). Increasing chances of occurrence of natural disasters such as storms,
cyclones, heatwaves etc.
According to a research paper by Mahmoud and Gan, (2018) there is a strong relationship
between human activities and climate change and because of this relationship environment and
ecosystem is getting impacted drastically. Due to increasing needs and requirements of human
they are continuously harming environment and resulting in climatic change. Such as increasing
need of land because of which they are cutting down trees or clearing dense forest. Asa result
amount of rainfall at that place is changing. If climatic change from 1900 to 2021 it observed
then it has been identified that after 2000 drastic change in climate was observed and increase in
earth temperature has increased by 0.19. C (Mahmoud and Gan, 2018). Due to this sudden and
drastic change in climate due to human activities, climate is changing, earth temperature is rising
and greenhouse gases are increasing.
Climate change vulnerability
Climate change is an important phenomenon that occurs naturally but due to human
activities changes within this naturally occurring phenomenon has increased (Haung and et. al.,
2020). For to this negative impact of human activities of the sensitive areas of earth where
change in weather or climate can cause destruction has been impacted. some of these sensitive
areas on earth have eloped due to this sudden climatic change (Haung and et. al., 2020). Overall
temperature of different nations have also changed due to this climatic change phenomenon

vulnerability at various sensitive places has increased such as at deserted places changes of sand
storm has increased, tropical places chances of heavy rain or cyclone has increased.
In order to reduce this impact of human activities on climate various strategies can be
adopted such as: vegetation, planting trees, reducing wastage of excessive water and also
reducing cutting down of trees or forests (Jiang and et. al., 2017). Vegetation is one such human
activity that can help in changing negative climatic change to positive climatic change. It can
further help in addressing all kinds of challenges associated with climatic change due to this
greenery in forest or mountains can be increased, reduction of earth temperature, and melting of
glaciers can be reduced (Jiang and et. al., 2017). It can further help in dealing with issues such as
greenhouse effect and can reduce CO2 emission in environment.
Above analysis clearly helps in understanding that change in climate conditions has
increased as a result of various human activities such as deforestation, burning of coals, oil,
gases. Not only this due to some human activities green house gases production has increased
drastically because of which temperature of earth is increased drastically (Mahmoud and Gan,
2018). it is important to focus upon identifying ways in which this negative impact of human
activities on climate change can be lowered and for this, various nations are taking initiatives so
that human activities that impact environment or climate can be lowered or eliminated and its
impact upon climatic change can also be lowered.
CONCLUSION
From the above essay it has been summarized that most of the human activities have
resulted in drastic climatic change. Due to various human activities, carbon dioxide level has
increase, deforestation has resulted in suffer change in rainy or sunny weather or increase in
overall temperature of that place. this essay has clearly helped in understanding that overall
temperature of earth has been increasing continuously year by year. Not only this, greenhouse
effect is also an effect of human activities because of which earth temperature is increasing.
