AI Summary
This essay examines the extent to which climate change is a result of human activities, focusing on the UK. It identifies three primary causes: the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and the emission of greenhouse gases. The essay highlights how human activities, such as industrial processes and land conversion, have significantly increased atmospheric carbon dioxide and other pollutants, disrupting natural processes and exacerbating the greenhouse effect. The severe impacts of climate change, including rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and threats to ecosystems and human health, are discussed. The essay concludes by emphasizing the urgent need for collective action and awareness to mitigate climate change and promote sustainable development, advocating for reduced fossil fuel use and lifestyle changes to protect the planet.

Essay Topic: To what extent is Climate Change a result of human activities?
Introduction
Climate change is defined as the adverse change that take place in environment on earth. It is the
long term change which take place due to change in the weather pattern of the global climate
(Tong and Ebi, 2019). It can be seen that human activities are also responsible for it. As the large
amount of carbon dioxide with various harmful gases available in the environment. The climate
change is known to be a main threat to the mankind, places, animals and species. There are
various reasons involved in it for instance human activities, forest fire, volcanic eruptions, floods
and many others. Due to which the biological balance of the earth will get affected and the
human will not be able to live a healthy life. The essay will outline the three main causes that
cause climate change in UK. According to Roger Harrabin (2021), UK is already suffering from
major climate change as the rainfall, sunshine and the temperature is getting increased (UK
already undergoing disruptive climate change).
Main Body
Three causes that lead to affect the climate change in UK
The climate change has a major impact on the earth, ecosystem, ecology and as the ocean level is
rising and the glaciers are also melting (Tang, 2019). It is also seen that many species, plants and
animals will soon get extinct. Ever since the evolution has taken place globally, the countries are
getting benefit from it and but it has also resulted into huge emission of the carbon dioxide gas
which is harmful for the environment. It can be seen that there are about various reasons which
are responsible for causing climate change such as some are man-made and some are natural
reasons. Human activity is the main cause for the climate change as people burn the fossil fuels
and they convert the land from forest to agriculture. Due to their greed and needs they adopt such
activities which causes harmful impact to the planet. Over the time, it is noticed that the
temperature is rising on the earth which is affecting humans, animals, wildlife and many other on
the earth (Owen, 2020). Additionally, human activities that is the gases released from various
plants, transportation and deforestation have also increased gases for example carbon dioxide,
CFCs, and added pollutants in the atmosphere of the earth. Due to human activities, the natural
processes got affected for instance volcanic eruptions and change in the energy of the sun. It can
be said that human activities have contributed in affecting the planet. Moreover, the human

activities are affecting the natural greenhouse since the last century. Such as burning of fossil
fuels such as coal and oil has increased the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide.
Humans also produce cements which is one of the major contributor to the climate change as it
leads to cause the emission of the Carbon dioxide. Another reason is cutting down of the trees,
forests has led to affect the climate and the temperature of the earth. Due to which it can also
lead to deforestation and it increases the impact of the global warming. Moreover, many species
lose their homes which will directly harm the ecosystem. Next reason is the greenhouse gases
which are known to be the main driver in the greenhouse effect. After the industrial evolution,
the greenhouse gases have increased all due to human activities (Gething and Puckett, K, 2019).
Various gases are present in the atmosphere of the earth such as concentrations of carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and many others (Causes of Climate Change). Further, the
greenhouse gases take place from both human and natural sources and gases for example carbon
dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide naturally occur in the atmosphere. Others gases such as
chlorofluorocarbons are only produced by human activities. The impact of the climate change is
severe such as it creates damage to the infrastructure, food insecurity, heat stress and many
others. Along with it, the warming planet leads to create major impact in the climate. It can be
seen that when the glaciers melt then the freshwater flows into the sea and due to which the
ocean current will change. UK has to face various changes in the future such as warmer
weathers, drier summers and extreme weathers. When the climate warms then the pattern of the
rainfall will change and it happens due to various elements. Climate change is a major issue
which is extremely affecting everything and people underestimated its impact. But this is a main
and growing issue and soon it will be out of the reach of the people. That is why, it is right time
to take action in order to minimise the impact and by creating more awareness the climate
change can be reduced. People will be more aware about the issue of the climate change so they
will be more conscious in making lifestyle related choices. These comprise of tectonic plate
movement, solar radiation, orbital variations and many others. Due to these activities, the
geographical state of the area become rather harmful for life to endure. Likewise, these actions
increase the temperature of the earth to a great extent causing a disparity in nature. The impact of
the climate change is very negative and the humans mistake has already caused a major damage
to the climate and ecosystem. But still it is not late to start again and try to save the planet by
collective measures (Hornsey and Fielding, 2020).

The climate change is considered to be the main danger to the all mankind, places,
animals, species and ecosystem. There are numerous reasons which are involved in it such as
human activities, forest fire, volcanic eruptions, floods and many others. Due to which the
biological balance of the earth will get affected and the humans will not be able to live a healthy
life. The term climate change is said to be the main issue which is tremendously affecting the
overall planet that is everything and people do not take it seriously as they underestimate its
impact. With the passage of time this is growing and it can also be said that soon it will be out of
the human reach. Therefore, it is advised to take preventive measures in relation to climate
change with the aim of minimising the impact Clayton and Karazsia, 2020). That can be
minimised by creating some awareness related to the climate change can be reduced. Due to
which people will be more aware about the issues of the climate change so they will be more
conscious in making various and lifestyle related choices. If the climate will not be protected,
then there will be no humans left on earth. It can be summarised that Humans are the main cause
of the climate change and also the natural climate cycle leads to change the temperature of the
earth. There are various steps which are taken for reducing the impact of the climate change and
that is why the government of all the countries are taking various climate friendly measures. The
path of the sustainable development must be followed in order to address the climate changes
properly. It is required to reduce the use of fossil fuels as it is also a major cause of the global
warming. That is why instead of neglecting the problems of climate change all the people must
start acting to save planet and the future.

Conclusion
From the above essay it can be summarised that climate change has become one of the main
issue globally. As the world already can see the adverse impact of the climate change globally
for instance the earth has the rainfall patterns and the level of sea are also rising. From the above
essay, three causes of the climate change can also be understood such as some human activities
and non-human activities. There is various risk that can take place such as heat stress, food
insecurity, damage to the marine ecosystem and many others.
