1ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
This report aims to discuss the effect of global warming and climate change on the
live of the human beings, plants and animals. This report also discusses the solutions of these
problems of global warming and what the countries can do to minimize the effect of global
warming. This report concludes with the initiatives of United Arab Emirates to limit the
effect of global warming and climate change.
The issue of global warming has direct woith climate change which affect the plant
and animal kingdom in a most harmful manner (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change,
2015). First, the climate change of the earth leads to increase of heat waves which result in
the widespread forest death in the extensive area of the Earth. The animals and plant species
can come into the verge of extinction or extinct completely. Tie aquatic planets and animals
may face the problem when the water of the seas gets heated. The species of fish and other
mammals living in the arctic region are facing problems of melting ice. The climate change
has resulted in rising level of water which are creating problems for the aquatic animals most
importantly the coral reefs underwater. Due to global warming, the warm weather plant and
animal species are expanding whereas the flora and fauna depending upon the comparatively
cooler weather, facing shrinking habitats thus potential extinction (Melillo, Richmond &
Yohe, 2014). The human beings also face issues like decreasing ground water supplies which
is directly connected to increasing incidents of drought. Climate change is resulting is heavy
rainfall and flooding therefore, both flood and drought are affecting the agriculture leading to
the food shortage. Climate change has become the reason of extreme weather condition
leading to health problems of the lives on earth (Zachariadis, 2016). In order to prevent
global warming along with its effects, the first initiative will be to reduce the usage and
wastage of energy which leads to the incised carbon foot print in the atmosphere. Thus, the
greenhouse gas emission will be reduced and pollution will remain controlled. The next step
will be reforestation which will lead to attain sustainable development of the countries

reducing pollutant gases leading to global warming (Schuur et al., 2015). Thirdly, the
wastage of water should be prevented as this will reduce carbon pollution. Moreover, the
cooling and heating appliances are the chief reason of global warming so reduce their use will
improve the condition. The final solution to reduce global warming can be the investment in
the renewable energy which will reduce the usage of fossil fuel resulting in less production of
carbon in the atmosphere. This initiative will also reduce deforestation for fuel thus increase
the number of forests and prevent global warming. United Arab Emirates considers the
climate change to be the most harmful factor for economic, social and environmental growth.
This is the reason why the country has taken some initiatives nationally based on the use of
technology, innovative solution and the best practices (Beeatna.ae, 2018). These are:
Adopting cleaner energy options, transforming national economy to low-carbon and green
economy, embracing the green architecture as well as sustainable construction methods,
improving the sustainability measures in the transportation sector, minimizing the ecological
footprints, proper utilization of the government accelerators and maintaining a continuous
process of research on the development of the carbon capture as well as sequestration
technologies.
Therefore, it can be concluded that Climate change consequences to plant, animal and
human lives. Hence investing in the energy efficient appliances will reduce the wastage of
energy making the earth less warm. UAE has taken efficient initiatives to reduce the effects
of climate change.
