practice and helps to provide high-quality care. In this essay, the influence of a key factor in

Part A
There are different factors that influence CDM, which include lack of knowledge of
procedures, experience, resources, and others. Lack of knowledge about procedures is a key
factor that influences CDM for nurses involved in monitoring patients. This factor is created
due to various issues in the workplace. This includes lack of training of nurses, considering
knowledge provision as a low priority task and due to scarcity of knowledge-sharing
platform.
Lack of knowledge of nurses impacts on the confidence level of nurses and creates a
barrier in collecting information from patients while monitoring them. Lack of knowledge of
nurses inhibits the capability of nurses to make innovative decisions and the flow of ideas

(2019), this industry is providing better care to patients through using Healthcare Information
Technologies (HITs). HIT refers to technological devices that allow nurses to store, share and
evaluate health information of patients and these devices can increase the accuracy of
treatment given. Common HITs include Electronic Health Record (EHR), Medical Practice
Management System, and Remote Patient Monitoring, E-prescribe software, Patient Portal,
Master Patient Index (MPI), Medical Billing Software and others. These technologies have
different features that can support nurses to perform their responsibilities within a healthcare
setting.
Electronic Health Record (EHR) is commonly used by nurses to record medical
information of patients. In the early days, nurses used to record all vital signs on paper.
However, after the technological revolution, it has become possible to fill up a form on EHR

The technology of EHR has some potentially negative impacts on patient assessment
and care. This includes overdependence on technology and loss of own decision-making

breakdown of technology can impact the productivity of an organization. Moreover, changes
in the power structure can occur in the workplace. For example, a doctor may lose autonomy
