Dementia
Dementia is mental illness. In this problem people are generally start to forget almost all
the basic things. This illness are related with the brain of human and it is decrease the ability of
think and remembering of people (Shafranske, 2016). The symptoms of dementia are losing the
ability to thinks and remember, problem with language of person, and they loose the motivation.
For the helping those types of patient who are facing the problem of dementia, palliative care
centre are the best supportive sources. Through the help of palliative care centre, members of
palliative care help them to provide to timely medicine for reduce or controlling the problem of
dementia, also help patient timely treatments and tests. Care members can also use technologies
through the people of dementia can remember their memories.
Hearing/vision impairments
The another diseases which is reflected at the time of old aged people is hearing/vision
impairments. In this aged people lose their eyesight and also face the problem in the clear vision,
most time they see the blur picture, or they can not see anything. And another disease is increase
is the hearing, with the age of people. Aged people are not hear and face the problem in hearing.
The symptoms of vision impairments is decreasing the ability to see and the reason behind this
disease is uncorrected refractive errors (Pederson & McIntosh, 2016). And the reason behind
hearing loss is genetics, ageing, exposure of noise. For prevention and the treatments of those
diseases, palliative care and life care sectors are very much helpful. This care sectors help
hearing loss people by providing them sign language, provide the subtitles. By these techniques
they will understand things. And for the treatments for the vision impairments patients, palliative
care members can provide them assistive devices through them they can see the things, also
provide them some technologies b y which they understand that something in front of them and

serious issue of chronic cardiac failure. The members of palliative care tries to support them
mentally, provide them an environment in which they feel calm and tension free (Magelssen,
Pedersen & Førde, 2016). Members of palliative cares support those patient by provide good and
healthy environment and also provide them, good diet as per their disease.
Reflection
Dementia: I have developed my learning upon dementia is that it is decline of memory, problem
solving and language along with other thinking skills affecting individual's potential performing
every day's activities. Studies suggest they the disease is cause and related to three genes
mutation that is usually passed from parents to their infants (Magelssen, Pedersen & Førde,
2016). I also understand that this problem can happen at any age group of people but the major
chances of aged people.
Hearing and vision impairment: I have learned that hearing and vision impairment is reduced
ability to see from particular degree causes problems for vision and need access to glasses
whereas hearing impairment is inability hear which can occur in both ears stating a person's
disability to hear 25 decibels in at least one year caused due to injury or infections (West &
Shepherd, 2016).
Chronic cardiac failure: I have developed by learning as chronic cardiac failure is condition
affecting pumping power of heart muscle where fluid build around heart and cause pump in
efficiencies which is caused sue to heart attack, diabetes, sleep arena leading to pain in chest and
brings fatigues in whole body (Magelssen, Pedersen & Førde, 2016).
