Leadership style presented
In the group presentation for the classroom assignment, my group members, and I worked on
democratic leadership style. While preparing this presentation our group studied the democratic
leadership style that is defined for leaders considering each and every thought or idea generated
from different minds beneficial. In other words, this leadership style can be defined as leading
people with their significant consideration in the decision-making process (Goncalves, 2013).
While researching the democratic leadership style we got to know about its attributes and
practices along with their implementation analysis in real-world practices. While researching the
material about democratic leadership style and collecting all the information our group efforts
reflected the similar leadership that made it easier for us to understand the real world
implementation. In democratic leadership style, leaders consider the ideas or thoughts that their
followers have in their decision-making process (Nanjundeswaraswamy, & Swamy, 2014). This
made us realize the importance of our assignment given to perform as a group activity. Our
preparation of this presentation can be considered as a real-life implementation of democratic
leadership style. This leadership style improved our group members’ thoughts about working in
groups and managing the same work with team members.
Leadership style preferred in the clinical practice context
Democratic leadership style completely resonates with me as I am a person who loves to involve
people in my decision and I also love sharing my work and work discussions with my people. In
my leadership, people can easily share their ideas and views with the whole team and I like to
consider all the ideas given by my team members. It is only after analyzing all the view; I come

to taking the end decision. The working environment under my leadership would be open. Also,
the characteristics which I feel are important in democratic leadership style is that the leader
should be compassionate with his team members and should be able to get to know them in order
to work nicely and efficiently with them. I am the similar type of leader who knows his team
very closely and I like people contributing in my work. For involving my team members in my
decision, I do communicate very effectively with them so that they are able to understand my
work and I also make sure that my employees are satisfied (SARRAH, 2018). In all these aspects
democratic leadership style is quite suitable and efficient as well. This makes it more clear for
me to realize that clinical professionals should follow the democratic leadership style to enhance
their impact in such clinical aspects (Mianda, & Voce, 2017). Since I do follow democratic
leadership and as I find this leadership style useful to deliver quality healthcare services, I would
recommend this leadership to clinical professionals as well. I do have a quality of being an
effective communicator I always give my best to communicate the best I can do to make my
group members understood about the task and its importance to realize the best relation between
leadership styles and clinical practices. I think my communication and leadership style
differentiate me from other but at the same time, I am ready to learn from other whenever
possible. During presentation reparations, I found that there are some people with acrobatic
leadership style and they made us to perform some activities, which we were not comfortable
with but those practices made us to conclude that how democratic leadership style is appropriate
for clinical practices and also made us to understand the clinical practices as well.

Generally, my group worked all together on the presentation. However, there was an issue raised
while making the presentation. The issue was that we were unable to decide about the leadership
style we wanted to exhibit in the task. There were group members who were saying that
transformational leadership is also considered as a good and effective leadership style.
Then one of the members of the group came up with the idea of writing the pros and cons of the
democratic leadership style and other styles as well so that it becomes easy to decide as to which
leadership style displays the apt qualities in clinical practices. That group member exhibited the
quality of becoming a leader by sharing a good idea and by solving the issues optimistically.
After then, it became very easy to choose the leadership style and that is how we all felt that
democratic leadership was the only style which was apt for me as well as for the clinical
practices.
