1CLOUD COMPUTING
Introduction
Cloud computing is an application of the advanced technology. Cloud is generally used
for storing the data online (Shen et al.,2014). There are various advantages of online storage of
data over the offline storage of data. The deployment of the cloud computing can be of different
type. The type of deployment is dependent on the type of the organization and the information
required to store in the cloud. This paper will discuss about the basic application and the
significance of cloud computing.
Discussion
The cloud computing allows the online storage of data (Ali, Khan & Vasilakos, 2015). The
service of this online storage is provided by the vendor or cloud providing companies. The
classification of the cloud computing service can be classified into two ways-
According to the type of deployment.
According to the service model.
According to the cloud deployment model there are three divisions of cloud computing-
1. Public cloud
2. Private Cloud
3. Hybrid Cloud
Public Cloud: The data stored in the public cloud can be accessed by any people.
Private cloud: The content stored in the private cloud can be accessed by a group o the
people in an organization. Private cloud is more secured than public cloud.

2CLOUD COMPUTING
Hybrid cloud: Hybrid cloud defines the combination of public and private cloud (Hashem et
al.,2015). In this case, the sensitive data is stored in private cloud and can be accessed by the
selected people in the organization (Yi, Qin & Li,2015). On the other hand the large amount of
general information can be stored at public cloud. This can reduce the cost overhead for the
companies.
According to the service model there are three categories of cloud:
Infrastructure-as-service (IaaS)
Software-as-service (SaaS)
Platform-as-service (PaaS)
IaaS is primary level of service model in cloud model. IaaS gives access of basic
infrastructures like virtual machines, and virtual storage.
SaaS is the cloud services that enable the users to use IDE of different software applications
online.
PaaS is the loud infrastructure that enables the users to create and develop different
application online by providing the required infrastructure and developing environment.
Advantages:
The usage of cloud computing allows the online storage of data. This helps to reduce the cost
of infrastructures for offline storage of data.
The storage of data in cloud provides security of the information.
The data can be accessed from anywhere and any place.

3CLOUD COMPUTING
Disadvantages of using cloud computing:
The data breaching can be happened in case if the cloud provider does not follow the
required security protocol.
The implementation of the offline data to the cloud is a complex process.
Managing hybrid cloud needs expert advice and proper training for handling.
Conclusion
It concluded from the discussion that the deployment of the cloud computing is a
complex process. However, this technology is beneficial for the data storage in an efficient way.
Certain advantages and disadvantages have been discussed in this context; however, those
disadvantages can be mitigated through the advancement of technology.
