CLOUD BASED SOLUTIONS 2
Background
Headspace organization has been having issues of having a system which could capture the story
for the first time when their patients tells them. Having a system for cloud computing could
provide an access to successive professionals and be able to help the mental illness patients. The
funding to acquire the system has been approved and as a business system analyst I will examine
on the scope of the research and provide an assessment to a cloud based solution and the
requirements for the implementations of the system.
Introduction
The cloud computing has been a resource which has been used for delivering of the services
especially in the environmental setting of organizations such as Headspace. Many of the expert
believed that the use of this resource may be useful in the improvement of health services
especially for the research as well as the improvement of the information technology (Doukas &
Maglogiannis, 2012). Nonetheless, before implementation of this technology there is need to
evaluate to enable Headspace organization project to be implemented effectively. The cloud
computing entails the demand, which is a self-service system that allows the end users to obtain
a usage of the facets of the cloud computing technology at any time. Some of the health care
organization such as Headspace have been left behind in implementing new technologies
especially the cloud computing to be able to gather references as well as storage of the data for
the patients (Doukas & Maglogiannis, 2012). The headspace organization has suffered to a great
deal since they do not have a system which is in place to be able to record the information for the
mentally ill patients. It is observed that the patients have to re-tell their stories to various
professional even before they can get help as the organization do have backup for storage of the
patients data. Headspace organization needs to implement the cloud program to be able to store

relevant data for the mentally ill patient to be able to offer the appropriate diagnosis to them. The
use of the cloud application will replace paper based workflows and this will ease the burden of
writing down on every case therefore they will provide services efficiently. This research would
look into the assessment of cloud based solution which will be adopted by Headspace
organization highlighting on the requirement (Fernández-Cardeñosa, de la Torre-Díez, López-
Coronado & Rodrigues, 2012). Moreover, the research intends to discuss some non-functional
requirements such as the system qualities, user interface, constraints of the system, requirements
and the interface for this project which will be implemented by Headspace organization. The
basic aspect of this application is based on FURPS+ which are usability, performance, reliability,
and the security are all covered. Additionally, the research will highlights some advantages and
disadvantages which have been associated to the assessment of the cloud based solution for the
Headspace organization. It will also important into the different types of SDLC such as
predictive and Adaptive and provide each pros and cons when it comes to using them.
Non-functional requirements to the application for Headspace organization
The non-functional requirements are usually the quality attributes, external interface for the
product requirements and the design implementation constraints.
Quality attributes
This aspect focuses on the elements which influences the behavior of the application to the
Headspace organization. Moreover, it is also about the model for the program along with the
experiences of the end users. Headspace organization system should have this attribute to
function efficiently (Rodrigues, De La Torre, Fernández & López-Coronado, 2013). It is
important also to note that the quality attributes usually comprise of a series of the quality for the

attributes for instance the usability, dependability as well as the security. These aspects are given
to the general layout of the application program.
System interface
When it comes to the cloud computing the interface of the system displays the shared boundaries
that exist between the various aspects such as the exchange of the data in the system for example
the exchange between the software or even to the peripheral. The interface will be friendly to
enable the staff of Headspace organization to be able to provide efficient services to the patients.
User interface requirements
To the interface requirements it highlights the system of the Headspace organization on what it
would display. It would highlight different aspect as the departments of the organization which
would be configured in the system (Kuo, 2011). These products are configured based on the
department of the organization to be able to meet on their needs and the requirements. The
interface would enable the users to have the ability of updating the entire configuration (Kuo,
2011). Moreover, the interface which would be set up entails to be friendly to the users to help
them interact and seek any assistance as fast as possible.

System constraints
The system interface highlights on what Headspace organization is aiming to implement. The
constraints focus on the aspects which could make the system not to function optimally. This
system is cloud based solution which will be expected to function on a twenty four hours basis.
Moreover, when the issues have been highlighted there is need to look at how they would be
mitigated.
Use of the FURP+
This aspect highlights on the elements such as the usability, reliability, performance as well as
the security.
Usability
This element focuses on how the application would meet the requirements of users. The program
needs to have easy access as well as intuitive to be able to provide best experiences to the

healthcare professionals at Headspace organization (Alshehri, Radziszowski & Raj, 2012). There
will be a usability inspection that will be performed before the program has been implemented to
make sure that all the issues it has can be fixed. Some of the likely issue with the system would
be hang up. The system will also have marked shortcut to enable the users to have easy access to
the various components to the system.
Reliability
Reliability component looks at how the system will be able to handle the increase load without
any effect to the performance of the system (Alshehri, Radziszowski & Raj, 2012). This would
help the personnel of the Headspace organization to have easy access of the patient’s data and
provide the appropriate diagnosis.
Performance
Performance aspect focuses on how the professionals in the Headspace organization will execute
various actions to the system to enable it function effectively. In this case the system being used
is cloud based and the issues which the organization is facing will be dealt with depending on the
delivery of the data at a quick speed (Kuo, 2011). The system would be connected to the users
which will enhance the delivery of the services faster as there is end-to-end application.
Security
This is the biggest issue when it comes to any cloud based solution. In this system which
Headspace intends to implement will contain all the data of the patient and the aspects of
confidentiality as well as privacy of information is vital (Soman, 2011). To keep the system
secure, there will be implementation of encryption programs to keep the data safe (Kuo, 2011).
Individuals would installs their passwords before being allowed to access the system.

Additionally, the system would have a fingerprint scan to any individuals who access the system
to be able to gain access.
Review of cloud based solution
Strength and weaknesses of cloud based solution
Strengths
Reduction on the costs: The adopting the cloud computing solution in the Headspace
organization would help them to eliminate on the costs for example that of the hardware as well
as the cost of the data (Soman, 2011).
The aspect of scalability: Headspace organization will only be required to pay for the services
which they will utilize. Moreover, there would be no issues relating to the hardware or perhaps
the upgrade as the system has been configured to cater for these elements (Soman, 2011).
Strategic edge: Headspace organization have the opportunity of deploying this solution to their
business mission statement as it would be significant especially in the delivery of the services.
This would help them to provide the services more efficiently and effectively (Sultan, 2014).
Weaknesses
Security concerns: Despite the implementation of the security standards which are high level
by the providers of the service when it comes to storage of the data this application is prone to
risk (Sultan, 2014). The risk comes when one need to provide the service provider and the third
parties of the technology access to their business information, in the process this data could get
to wrong hands and be compromised. Headspace organization needs to keep their data secure
from compromise.

The information ownership and mobility: The provider may not be able to assure 100%
Headspace organization they have ability to provide the organization data especially when it has
been destroyed or even other solutions related to the system (Sultan, 2014).
How the data will be kept secure
One way Headspace organization will ensure security particularly to the third party product
would be they have an enforceable obligation to preserve on the confidentiality as well as
security (Soman, 2011). Additionally, they will utilize available technology to be able to guard
themselves against the foreseeable attempts of infiltration to the data which is stored.
Predictive SDLC method
This technique is utilized when examining current existing data or even the trends to be in a
position of understanding the customers and products along with identifying the risks and the
opportunities (Vaquero, Rodero-Merino, Caceres & Lindner, 2008). This approach has the
following benefits and drawbacks.
Pros
The benefit associated this approach is that it is much easier to use. A person can be able to
manage any project with ease as the method is more rigid (Vaquero, Rodero-Merino, Caceres &
Lindner, 2008). Additionally, the completion of the stages of a particularly project can be
undertaken at interval therefore the clients can be able to see the progress of the project.
Cons
The drawback associated with this approach is that in the event that the client want the scope of
the project to be changed or adjusted the lifecycle of the project ends (Soman, 2011). Moreover,
Document Page
CLOUD BASED SOLUTIONS 9
the functioning of the program for a given project may not produce all the result until there is
completion of the lifecycle.
Adaptive approach
The use of this method basically focus to the ability of the team to adopt to any changes to the
needs of the customers (Ventola, 2014). This approach is most effective when it is utilized for
the service oriented project that needs improvements.
Pros
One benefit of the use of this method is that it saves a lot of time and there is aspect to the
consistency especially when it comes to the design of the interface (Khan, Ali, Abbas & Haldar,
2014). Another benefit of the approach allows the clients involvement in the project from the
initial stages.
Cons
The drawback associated in the use of this method it is not possible to produce codes which can
be reusable as the method does not have a stopping point for any of the project which are
undertaken (Soman, 2011). Another drawback is that any deliverable that is generated in the
project may be totally different from what was intended previously in the objective of the
project. This approach is innovative in nature thus there are changes which could be made as the
project progress.
Recommendations
The best method to use for the Headspace organization would be the adaptive SDLC approach.
This method is most suitable particularly for the rapidly developing project for example the

implementation of the cloud based solution. Such a system may change significantly especially
to the scope and the future demand which may arise from Headspace and this will need to be
adapted. This method is ideal for the project that are exploratory and innovative such as the ones
being implemented because of the nature of Headspace organization.
