Introduction
The use of emerging technology has helped the organizations to achieve the desirable
business objective sand business goals. The use of technology has helped the business
organizations to achieve the organizational profit along with maintaining the standards of the
products and services. The use of technology can be done on the various sectors of the industry.
The positive digital disruptions in the organization help to mitigate the overhead cost for the
organizations (Garrison, Wakefield and Kim 2015). Along with that the marketing and of the
products and services can be done through the usage of different technologies. This helps the
organizations to reach to the large consumer base along with that provide better services to the
existing consumers. Main objective of this paper is evaluation of the impact of an emerging
technology- cloud computing on the business process of an e-commerce company. The
discussion covers the impact of the digital disruptions of the company and the issues faced by the
company due to the digital disruption. The opportunities and the challenges due to this digital
disruption with the stakeholders of the company are also evaluated in the context of this
discussion. The recommendations and conclusion are made on the basis of the findings from the
situational analysis.

Selected technology for the organization:
The selected technology for the discussion is the cloud technology which is also known
as cloud computing. Implementation of cloud computing has opened up for new technology for
storing the data. Apart from that this technology is providing the organization to large amount of
data along with the security. The e-Commerce organizations like Amazon are adopting the use

of the cloud computing for the storing of the data for the organizations(Al-Jaberi, Mohamed and
Al-Jaroodi 2015). On basis of the requirements the cloud storage offers different deployment
system. The security and the access various for different deployment system. In the public
cloud the access of the information can be done by any users of the cloud whereas in the private
cloud the access is restricted among certain persons. The implementation of hybrid cloud allows
the usage of the public and private cloud simultaneously. This enhances the security of the data
and information.
Selection of the business for the implementation cloud computing:
The selected field to discuss the impact of emerging technology is e-commerce. E-
commerce has become the growing trend for the business organizations. Most of the
organizations are promoting and selling their services and products through online (Yu et al.
2017). The implementation of the e-commerce and e-business need the storage of large amount
of data. In this case, the storage of the data manually can become expensive. In this context the
application of the cloud technology for the storage of data can be beneficial.
Impacts of cloud technology on the selected business field:
The implementation of the cloud computing has helped the organization to enter into the
e-commerce environment of doing business (Skolmen and Gerber 2015) . The main advantage
of the cloud computing is that the storage space for the data is larger compared to the
conventional data storage system. Apart from that the security provided in the cloud computing
is better than the traditional system. The maintenance of the security is the responsibility of the
cloud providing vendor. There are certain positive impact of the application of cloud computing
in e-commerce organization.

Mitigation of overhead cost: The mitigation of the overhead cost for the e-commerce
organization can be achieved from use of cloud computing. Data and information are stored in
the online cloud. In this case, the cost of maintaining the infrastructure can be saved.
Availability of data: The data can be available at any time of the time, as the data is
stored in cloud. This increases availability of the data.
Security: Main advantage of using cloud storage is that this technology provides better
security for the data and information.
Impact of cloud on small business:
Many organizations are adopting e-commerce for the expansion of the business. At initial
stage, this initiative taken by the company can be considered as small scale initiative. In this
case, the use of cloud computing in these organizations have helped those companies to compete
with the other big companies in the industry (Sabi et al. 2016). Moreover these e-commerce
websites are providing the standard services to the consumers with maintaining proper secured
management of information. The mitigation of the overhead cost for the organizations is helping
the companies to achieve desirable profit. The data management for the organizations can be
easier and flexible with the implementation of cloud computing.
Opportunities after the implementation of cloud :
There are certain opportunities those can be achieved through implementation of cloud
computing. The profitability of organizations can be increased. Moreover, for the e-commerce
company data management can be more flexible (Rittinghouse and Ransome 2016). The control

Challenges after the implementation of cloud :

computing. The main challenge is the security of the stored data and information (Yu et al.2016).
Data breaching from the cloud can be happened (Verma et al.2015). In this case all the
stakeholders associated with the e-commerce company can be affected. Generally, the databases
of e-commerce companies contain information regarding the organization and the users which
are sensitive in nature. The breaching of these data can be security threat for both the
organization and the users.
Conclusion
The discussion is regarding the application of cloud computing in e-commerce
organization. In this context, it has been found out that there are certain positive impact of
adaptation of cloud in the e-commerce organizations. However, the companies may have to face
certain challenges due to this implementation of cloud. The issues are related to the security of
the data in cloud. However, the challenges can be mitigated through adaptation of different
security measures. It can be concluded from the above discussion that the implementation of the
cloud computing can be beneficial for small scale e-commerce companies.
