INTRODUCTION
Cloud computing is considered as storing accessing and processing of information and
data on internet. Usually the data is stored in computer hard disk (Rittinghouse and Ransome,
2016). The cloud computing services are provided by different services providers in which they
offer data storing and processing to user. For modern time business it improves the functionality
of business. Tesco is multinational groceries and general merchandise retain market chain. It is
considered as the ninth largest retailer in the world. This study is explaining the cloud computing
and cloud storage and their uses. The different types of clouds are also explained in the report.
Security and privacy in terms of cloud computing is covered in report.
MAIN BODY
Cloud Computing and cloud Storage
Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is basically known as storing, accessing and processing of data and
information on internet. The services of cloud computing is provided by different service
providers. Different types of packages are offered by companies which are designed on the base
of services offered in each package (Shi and Dustdar, 2016). The different types of cloud
computing are IAAS, PAAS, SAAS and RAAS. The different type of cloud computing services
are classified as per their use and function.
IAAS
Infrastructure as a service is the basic level of cloud computing or cloud solution. In this
services the user can us e the infrastructure of the service provider by pay them money for it.
This IT infrastructure can be used by the Tesco to design their general services. The service
provider gives facility of detailed billing, monitoring, log access, load balancing, security and
clustering in the IAAS. This services offered in IAAS can be helpful to the Tesco to reduce the
work load on employees and improve their performance in information management.
PAAS
the full form of PAAS id the platform as a service. In these services the cloud computing
providing services provide a platform to the user to develop, run and manage their own
application without any complications. In the personal platform there is issue of failure or system
crash. This help to prevent such problem (Chang and Ramachandran, 2015). This can help
business of Tesco to launch its own application to improve and increase business opportunity.

SAAS
Software service provided in Cloud computing is known as software as a service. It is a
software distribution model where third party host makes the software available on internet for
user. In SAAS the software provided by the service provider to the consumer and it is their
responsibility of service provider to solve their problems related to software and the regular
updates of security patches are regularly provided to the user. This service of cloud computing
can full fill the requirement of Tesco. The only work of Tesco in this service to manage the
operation and content of application.
FAAS
This is also known as function as a service. This is quite opposite of PAAS or platform as
a service. In this type of cloud computing service provider provide authority to the user to make
changes in the particular application. This changes in the applications are known as the user
developed changes. This services id also good for Tesco in the business. Company can work
with an application and in this application they can make changes as they want. This will provide
more flexibility to company to operate and utilize the operation of application in better way.
This how cloud computing can improve the performance of Tesco PLC.
Cloud Storage
The cloud storage the data or information of individual person or company can be stored
on internet network and can be reused again by re accessing process. Cloud computing and cloud
storage is considered as the technology of future (Dastjerdi and Buyya, 2016). There are multiple
type of cloud storage are offered by service providers. This types are personal cloud storage,
public cloud storage, private cloud storage and hybrid cloud storage. This classification is based
on the number of user of individual bundle of cloud storage.
Personal Cloud Storage
Personal cloud storage can be explained as the particular size of space is allocated to a
individual person the facility of privacy and password protection is provided by service
providers. This storage space can be used by the used to store personal data and this data or
information can be access any time by user. This type of personal cloud storage can be used by
the authority or owner of Tesco PLC to store the confidential information related to the
company.
Public Cloud Storage

The public cloud storage is the online storage space for a group of people or an
organization. The facility of the public cloud storage is it can be access by multiple people who
are authorized with user id and password (Gangwar, Date and Ramaswamy, 2015). This will be
good for Tesco to operate on the multiple location with same planning and operation.
Private Cloud Storage
The private cloud storage is the online storage space which is allocated to an organization
or an enterprise with high level of security of data and high privacy. This can be used to store the
important data and information of company. Tesco PLC can use this cloud space to store the
information which can be used at different location where organization is working. This will help
the organization to maintain the standards.
Hybrid Cloud Storage
The hybrid cloud is considered as the combination of public and private cloud storage.
For this type of cloud storage some data stored in the storage is visible to only few people and
other data and information is visible to all member of group (Díaz, Martín and Rubio, 2016).
This is the best kind of option for Company like Tesco cause company can use this storage form
multiple operation..
Above explained types of cloud can be used by organization for the different purposes.
Also, it can help the organization to perform better in business.
Advantages of Cloud Computing and Cloud storage
This is a cost effective technology and it can minimise the chances of data lose. This can
also help to recover data in case of data lose in physical hard drive. The functionality of cloud
computing is high and it provides the flexibility to the user. The security of data is high in cloud
storage. It provides mobility to business and increase the collaboration in business. This also can
help to control the quality of data and information (Varghese and Buyya, 2018). The facility of
automatic software update can help the organization to gain competitive edge in market place.
This advantages of cloud computing and cloud storage shows its suitability in business of
an organization. For Tesco this technology is very good to implement to improve the
productivity of organization.

Meaning of privacy in terms of cloud computing is protecting the identity of the user in
people. It can be also considered as the data and identity of user is hidden from other users.
Security
Meaning of security in context of cloud computing is the safety of information and data
of user (Tong, Li and Gao, 2016). The purpose of security in cloud computing is to keep the data
safe from situation of data breach and leak.
Different techniques for Data Security and Data Privacy
Privacy and security of data can be improved by using different technology in cloud
computing. This different method can help the service provider to keep the data security and
privacy.
Data Encryption
this is the best way to keep data safe and private. The data encryption technique help to
modify the data to make it complex to stole. At the time when the user want to access the data is
decrypted to original form. The encryption help to prevent the data copying and security breach.
Password Protection
This is also a good option for the service provider. In this method the user is asked to set
password for the particular cloud storage account (Singh and Chana, 2016). This can be done for
all type of cloud accounts. The protection through password allow only authorized person to
access the particular information and data. This will prevent the misuse and mishandling of
personal information.
Access Limitation
This also can help the service provider to maintain the security and privacy of customer
data. In this method the authority to access to the data is given to limited people. This limitation
of access can help to prevent data leak and information loss (Bursell, Citrix Systems Inc, 2016).
In limited access method the data is secured with different technologies like biometric and
passwords.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that the cloud computing is one of the best
technology for business organization to adopt. This can minimize the operation and cost to the
company. Tesco PLC can implement this technology to get better productivity and performance.
By using different techniques to maintain data security and privacy is evaluated in report.
