Abstract:
The existing procedure for the virtual data collection of the patients need a great deal of labor
work for collecting, giving input as well as for analysing information. Usually the procedures
are slow as well as error prone it can also introduce a latency which can prevent accessibility
of data at real time. The solution that is proposed for automating this procedure by making
use of sensors that are attached to the equipments related to medical as well as inter
connected to the exchange related services. This proposal is on the basis of wireless sensor
networks and the concept of utility computing.

Title:
“A CLOUD COMPUTING SOLUTION FOR DATA COLLECTION OF PATIENTS IN
HEALTHCARE.”
Introduction:
The telemedicine allows to monitor the patients and remote diagnoses. It also gives
the guaranty of safety, agility as well as reliability in the healthcare organisations that are
modern. There are various issues that are associated with the automation process in the sort of
environment, protocols, heterogenic devices as well as programming interfaces (Griebel et
al., 2015). The research will focus on the issues of the vital data collection of the patients,
processing and distribution. The existing solutions are on the basis of manual note that are
labor resource intensive and time consuming. On the other side, it also imposes an obstacle
for accessing data at the real time.
Background:
The integration of the technologies provides the infrastructure for
implementing the solution that is targeted. Some of the solutions that can be provided from
the infrastructure are indexing and device location. For providing support to the existent
sensors in the environment that are considered is the aspects of WSN (Wireless sensor
networks) (Yue et al., 2016). The wireless networks can facilitate the distribution and
collection of the information from and to the mobile devices. It utilizes the wearable sensors
for collecting signals that are important. But the work is focusing on the support cases that
are individual. The structure that is created by the WSN is so much flexible, can leverage the
combination of sensors that are local for collecting data as well as the cost of is also low.

With the development of the information technology as well as medical information and the
medical technology has been developed from the paper records that are traditional into
electrical based medical records that have been applied widely at present.
Purpose of the research:
The purpose of this research is proposing a system that is an automatic process for the
collection a important data that are related to the patients. The system will be having sensor
nodes and exchanging services. The exchanging services are acting such as a broker that is
between remote and local services. This is also responsible for retrieving the data that are
collected from the sensors as well as for dispatching that for appreciating the storage services
that are hosted on the cloud (Stantchev et al., 2015).
Research aim and objectives:
The aim of this research is to propose a system for automating the procedure of
collecting vital data of patient by a network that is connected by sensors for the legacy
medical devices as well as deliver that information the cloud storage of medical devices,
distribution and processing (Calabrese & Cannataro, 2015). There are some of the sensor
nodes that are loaded with some of the software for encoding, collecting as well as
transmitting information and data by the channels of wireless communication to be stored
(Luo & Ren, 2016). This can also retrieve the requests that come from the content services
for retrieving data from the cloud based services. The contribution of this research proposal is
two folded in both the scientific and social fields. In social a low cost as well as innovative
solution has been demonstrated for improving the quality of the delivery of medical
assistance (Abouelmehdi, Beni-Hessane & Khaloufi, 2018). On the other side, the scientific
filed will help to address the issues of how the sensors will be integrated as well as connected

to the legacy devices related to medical services for collecting, processing as well as
delivering the important data of the patients.
The architecture that is proposed will cover various elements in the present system like:
The sensors that are attached to the devices that are related to legacy medical will
replace the necessity of gathering manual data and the data that are entering within the
medical system (Chen et al., 2018).
Resources that are related to computer will be available in the cloud are having
responsibility for indexing, organising as well as making the information and data
accessible as well as distributing the information and data to the staffs.
There will be various advantages that are practical in the implementation like:
It provides real time and always on data collection.
This will eliminate the manual collection of work as well as possibility of errors in
typing (Kaur et al., 2018).
It will also facilitate the procedure of deployment as the wireless networking is
meaning of no need to cab or other set up that are physical.
At the level of the abstraction, there is not required for specifying what elements are
having availability in the logical design or Cloud or for caring scalability and performance.
The proof of the concept design is on the basis of simple components that are deployed for
the devices that are related to commodity computing (Gia et al., 2015). In this case, the
concept will be used available commercially routers that are wireless which allows the
replace of operating system by Linux. The LinkSys WRT54 router will be used for that as
well as an application that is simple which is able to collect data from a serial port that will be
attached to the medical devices.

Research questions:
1. What are the methods for resource management?
2. What are the methods for ubiquitous communication between stationary computing
devices and mobile computing?
3. What are the methods to implement security?
4. What is the solution for data patients’ data collection in healthcare?
Literature review:
There are various works that are related to this solution. The works are categorised
into two categories. They are as follows:
1. Solutions for automated gathering of data and telemedicine
2. Solutions for gathering of data on WSN.
According to Darwish et al., 2017, a solution for monitoring cardiovascular disease by
utilising PDA (Personal digital assistance) as well as to apply the grid computing like the
technology enabler. The medical staffs are able to access utilizing the apps that are in the
software such as SaaS (Software as a service) basis. The solution that will come as a result
provide some of the requirement but it focuses on a solution that is different or not covering
how the data that are vital are needed.
A tool for monitoring the patients is proposed by UbiMon. This applies the sensors
that are implemented in the bodies of the patients for getting vital data. The platform utilizes
the nodes for carrying out the acquisition, storage tasks and processing (Darwish et al., 2017).
It is not able to provide saleable, flexible as well as on demand way for handling the data that
are collected.

For the solution to gather data on the WSN, according to Lian, Yen & Wang, (2014) a
monitoring system for the vital signs that are multiple on the basis of remote connectivity and
mobile devices. It utilizes the wearable sensors for collecting signals that are important. But
the work is focusing on the support cases that are individual. The electronic medical record
plays a vital role in the clinical decisions, because they cut down at the time of diagnose as
well as they can lower the risks that are related to misdiagnosis.
A framework design is proposed by Zhang et al., (2015) on the basis of the concept of
cloud computing, image toolkits, Microsoft technologies as well as the middleware that are
existing for processing images that are colorectal cancer. The exchanging services are acting
such as a broker that is between remote and local services. This is also responsible for
retrieving the data that are collected from the sensors as well as for dispatching that for
appreciating the storage services that are hosted on the cloud. It is also proposed that a
solution that is on the basis of wireless web access, where processing power of the cloud to
the parser components of HTML are utilized by the mobile devices.
According to Zhou et al., (2014), the sensor modules can contain the elements for
extracting, transforming as well as loading the data from the hardware that will be attached.
A standard set of the controlling interfaces will be provided by the software for various
medical related equipments. A number of functionalities are contained by the Exchange
service application, for organising the data of patients. This acts like broker between the
remote devices and locally attached devices. This is having two of the functionalities such as
an access point as well as this allows the sensors for storing data locality for the pre-
processing.

Methodology:
Research philosophy:
In this research proposal, the positivism research philosophy has been used mainly
because naturally this can deal with the utilization of various facts that are hidden as well as
effective application which are related to the use of cloud computing services in healthcare
organisation (Chen et al., 2015). In addition, the approach can provide information in detail
cloud computing so that actual results will be achieved.
Research approach:
In this research proposal, the approach that is used is known as deductive approach.
The risk that are related to the cloud computing in health care service in the health care
related organisations can be analysed with the help of this method in a clearer as well as in
manner that is concise in type (Stantchev, Colomo & Niedermayer, 2014). Moreover, this can
help to provide the possibility in generating the findings of the research to measure all of the
concepts quantitatively.
Research design:
This has been found that the exploratory design for research has been considered so
much as it is so much important for the acknowledgement of different type of thoughts and
idea as well as some opinions which are required mainly to analyse the various concepts of
the cloud computing in the organisations that are related to the health care (Haufe, Dzombeta
& Brandis, 2014).
Data collection method:
In this research proposal, the method that will be used to collect data and information
that are related to the cloud computing related services in the healthcare industry (Gia et al.,
2015, October). Several journal and articles as well as academic papers will be reviewed for
