INTRODUCTION
Background
The cloud computing is defined as the delivery of the computing services on demand of
the person or the company which includes application to storage and to processing power. This
cloud computing involves delivery of the various types of the service providing to its clients with
the help of the internet. In this modern era, where the technology is developing at its peak and it
is very essential for the companies to make the use of latest technology so that it improves the
working efficiency of the company. Under method of cloud computing, company provide users
the facility to store their data on servers and then they can have access to the data with help of
the internet.
The present study is based on company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) which is an
Indian multinational IT and consulting service company. the company was founded in the year
1968 by JRD Tata, Tata sons and Faquir Chand Kohli and is headquartered in Mumbai. The
current report will outline the use of cloud computing over the performance of the business. in
addition to this the research will also outline the benefits and challenges which the company will
be facing in order to make the use of the cloud computing in order to manage and maintain and
the data of the consumers for a long.
Aims and objectives
Aim: To investigate the impact of using cloud computing upon business performance: A study
on Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Objectives:
 To understand the concept of Cloud computing
 To examine the benefits and challenges of using cloud computing in TCS
 To assess the relationship of using cloud computing within business performance.
 To recommend the best way through which the challenges may overcome within
company.

Rationale
In this competitive and advance business environment the major focus is laid over the use
of the technology within the business. Hence, this is the major reason for the researcher to make
the use of the cloud computing as the research topic and conduct the study over it. Further in
addition to this if the business is not working in accordance with the latest trends and technology
then this will not attract large consumers. Thus, for this reason as well the researcher has selected
this as the topic of the researcher. In addition to this the personal and academic reason was also
prevalent before the selection of the research topic of impact of cloud computing on performance
of company.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Theme 1- Concept of cloud computing within the business.
With the analysis of the views of Schniederjans and Hales (2016) the cloud computing is
a practice of using the network relating to the remote server which is being provided over the
internet in order to store and manage the data. Under this the data is being stored and saved over
these cloud storages rather than the computers or the local servers. In simpler words it can also
be stated as the involving of the delivery of the hosted services to the use with the help of the
help of the internet. This involves the use of the analytics and software in order to keep the data
storage safe and secure and everything is being recorded with help of the cloud computing.
On the other side Khayer and et.al., (2020) argued that both cloud computing and storing
the data over computers or laptop is difference as compared to data stored over desktop hard
disk. With respect to the business the cloud computing is defined as improving the productivity
and collaboration and result in reduction of cost. It simply means protection of the data and try to
improve the collaboration and productivity of the company as all the data of company resources
are being stored over internet.
Furthermore, in against of this Luo and et.al., (2018) stated that the use of cloud
computing within the business is very important. The major reason for this is that when the
company will undertake the use of cloud computing then this will assist company in storing all
the necessary data in safe and secure manner. Further in addition to this when the data of the

consumer and other relevant data will be stored in proper manner then this will be much helpful
for the company. also this will assist company in creating a better working of the company as the
company is having all the data recorded in proper and effective manner. This will also improve
the working of the company as employees are having all the data which they require and with
this they can effectively work and make strategies for the betterment of the company.
Theme 2- Benefits and challenges associated with the use of cloud computing in the
organization.
From the analysis of the work of Vasiljeva, Shaikhulina and Kreslins (2017) the major
benefit of using the cloud computing is that the use of cloud computing is very secure and
compatible. The major reason for this is that when the companies will make use of the cloud
computing then this will provide a space for the company to store all the data and information in
proper and effective manner. This is majorly pertaining to the fact that when the company will
store the data in cloud computing then all type of data is at same place. If the company need any
of the data, then they can have easy access and this will save the time of the employees as well.
On the other side Attaran (2017) argued that the major challenge of using the cloud
computing is that this always requires the internet connectivity. This is a system which can be
accessed only if there is presence of internet and otherwise this will not work and operate. Also,
when the company internet connectivity will be weak then this will also reduce the working and
storing of data and opening of data. The major reason underlying this fact is that when the
company need to access any data and if there will not be proper internet connectivity then this
will result in slower access to the data.
But in against of this Yu, Cao and Schniederjans (2017) articulated that the major benefit
of using the cloud computing is that there is rapid and flexible deployment of the data which is
stored in the cloud. This is particularly because of the reason that when the company will save all
the data at single platform then this will provide easy access to the employees to make use of the
data in correct and effective manner. Further the system of cloud computing provides a system
which is ready to use and can be rapidly deployed by use of configuration. Hence, this assist the
company in managing the working in much effective and efficient manner.
However, in against of this Alzakholi and et.al., (2020) criticized that major challenge at
the time of using the cloud computing is that it is the duty of the company to train the employees
to make effective use of cloud computing. The major reason for this is that cloud computing is a

technical application and it is not possible that the employees are having the knowledge of
accessing the cloud computing. Hence, this will increase the cost of the company as first they
will have to train the employees and then they will be in a position to have access to the cloud
computing.
Theme 3- The relationship between the use of cloud computing and the performance of
business.
With the assistance of the opinion of Mohammed and et.al., (2017) the use of cloud
computing is very essential for the company in managing the business and the data relating to
business. The major reason for this is that when the company will undertake the use of the cloud
computing then this will improve the performance of the company. Hence, there is positive
relation among the use of the cloud computing and the performance of the company (What is
cloud computing in simple terms? Definitions & examples, 2020). The major reason for this is
that when the company will make the use of latest technology like cloud computing then this will
improve the working efficiency of the company. The major reason for this is that when the cloud
computing is used then at that time all the data is being stored at single place only. Hence, in
future if there will be any use of the past data then the employees can have access to that with
just one click. Thus, this will save the time of the employees in searching for the particular data
and this will improve the performance of the company.
On the other side Batista and et.al., (2017) argued that when the company makes the use
of cloud computing then this will improve the interest of the employees as well in the company.
The major reason for this is that when the company will undertake the use of the cloud
computing then this will improve the employee performance. the major reason for this is that
when the company will increase the use of cloud computing then the company will be using the
latest methods and trends of the technology.
Hence, in the words of Chang (2018) when the company will be using the latest methods
and technology then this will increase the working efficiency of the employees. Furthermore, this
will also increase the popularity and the goodwill of the company if they are using the latest
methods and technology. The major reason for this is that when the company will undertake the
use of the latest technology and the trends then this will attract a majority of the consumers and
as a result of this more consumer are being attracted towards the working of the company and its
operations.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
 Research type- the researcher type is defined as the methods or the series of steps through
which the research can be completed in successful and effective manner. There are two
different types of research which can be used by the researcher in order to complete the
study that is qualitative and the quantitative research (Snyder, 2019). The qualitative
research is the one which involves the use of the values or the beliefs and the non-
numeric information relating to the research topic. On the other side the quantitative
research is the one which takes into consideration the use of numeric facts and figures in
order to analyse the research topic. For the successful completion of the research on
impact of cloud computing is the use qualitative research. The major reason underlying
the use of qualitative research is that this will assist the researcher in developing detailed
and in- depth information relating to the research topic.
 Research approach- the approach is referred to as the different procedures and plan which
the researcher has to follow at time of the completion of the study. There are two major
types of approaches which the research can follow that is inductive and deductive. The
inductive approach is the one under which the researcher first frames the aim and
objective and then complete the whole of the study on the basis of these aim and
objectives only. In against of this deductive approach is the one which involves making
of the hypothesis and then testing these whether they are correct or not. In order to
complete the research in successful manner the use of inductive approach will be
undertaken as this will provide a way that how the research will be conducted.
 Research philosophy- philosophy is being defined as the beliefs and the values which re
underlying behind the selection of any of the method of research. There are two different
types of the philosophy which the researcher can use in order to complete the research in
successful and effective manner. The first one is the positivism and other one is
interpretivism. The positivism is the one which involves the analysis of the data in the
basis of the factual information and facts and figures (Mohajan, 2018). On the other side
the interpretivisim is used by the researcher in order to integrate the interest of human in
the research. For the effective completion of the research over impact of cloud computing
the use of the interpretivism as the philosophy will be used. The major reason for this is

that when the researcher will use this as the philosophy then this will increase the interest
of the readers in the study.
 Data collection- this is the most essential aspect of the research to be completed in
successful and effective manner. The major reason for this is that the whole of the
research is based over the data and its analysis only (Zangirolami-Raimundo, Echeimberg
and Leone, 2018). Hence, for this the most important thing for the researcher is to collect
appropriate data and the two different sources are primary and secondary sources. The
primary source is the one which involves the collection of the data directly from the
source and which is being used within the research for the first time. On the other side the
secondary source is the one which involves the use of the published research, articles,
books, journals and many other sources. For the completion of the present study use of
primary source with help of questionnaire and the other secondary source will be also be
used. This combination of primary and secondary will be used as this will provide more
authentic and reliable data.
 Sampling- This is referred to as selecting some of the respondent from the whole of the
population. The major reason for this in the population there are many respondent and it
is not possible to undertake the whole population and for this some samples are being
selected. For the present study over the impact of cloud computing over performance of
business with the use of random sampling method 20 respondent of TCS company will be
selected. The use of random sampling method is undertaken as in this method there is
equal chance of every respondent to be selected.
 Data analysis- After the selection of the sample the next step is to decide that how the
collected data will be analysed. The major reason for this is that just collecting the data is
not the solution rather for the research to be successful the most essential thing is to
analyse the data in proper and effective manner. For the completion of the research over
impact of cloud computing the use of thematic analysis will be made (Attia and Edge,
2017). The major reason for the selection of this method to analyse the collected data is
that this involves the use of tables, charts and graphs. Along with the use of tables and
charts the data is being interpreted in detailed manner. Hence, the reason underlying the
selection of the thematic analysis is that this method is more attractive and presentable
and attracts the interest of the reader very quickly.

 Ethical consideration- For the research to be successful the most essential thing for the
researcher is to include all the ethical consideration within the research. The major reason
for this is that if the ethical aspect of the research will not be met then the research will
not result in the intended outcome. The major ethical aspect of the research which need to
be taken care of is the fact that the researcher must get the ethical approval form signed
by the respondent (Dźwigoł and Dźwigoł-Barosz, 2018). The major reason for this is that
the data may involve the personal information as well of the respondent. Further another
major ethical aspect is that the data of the research must not be beyond the time of the last
five years. The major reason for this is that it might be possible that the too much old data
is valid or not. Another major ethical consideration is that the researcher must keep all the
data of the respondent safe and secure so that this data cannot be misused by any other
person or any other researcher.
 Research limitation- for every research there are many different types of the limitation
which restrict the successful completion of the research. The major limitation identified
in the study was of the time as the time provided for the study was less. But then also the
researcher tried to complete the research on time. Another major limitation was of budget
as the budget provided was less and then also the researcher tried to finish the study on
time and in provided budget only. In addition to this another major limitation of the
research is the resources as these are very limited and the researcher has to conduct the
study in that limited resources as well.
