Advantage and Disadvantages of migrating to Cloud-based system
When we are talking about the companies who are working and want to move from their
traditional form of management working to the cloud than it will be going to be a very big
deal for the company. Moving to the cloud and making the company systems to work
accordingly is never been so easy. There are many advantages and disadvantages of
migrating information system to cloud for the companies like:
Advantages:
1. Cost-effective method: - The biggest reason why businesses are trying to shift from their
traditional use of information system to cloud. The cloud will provide the company, facility
of using the cloud computing structure which will give them the facility to save the data on
the cloud. When the company now saving data on cloud it will be going to eliminate the
extra cost of the company to invest of the additional servers, data storage, updating of the
software’s, management work etc. The company only need to give some minimal fees to
use the facility of clouds. Now on one hand if the company is paying millions to make the
data storage units, software’s need the updates or they need to change and when they are
using the cloud services they need to not pay this much of the big amount.
2. Easy availability of services: - The second main advantage of the cloud service is the
cloud services are available anywhere to the end-user. If the end-user is available at a
different location or available at a far distance, no matter how far the distance is the cloud
services will be available. The time issues because of different time zones even don’t affect
the service of a cloud. Now it becomes easier to access the documents and documents, files
now can easily be modified, change or can be view.
3. Use of fewer resources: - When we are talking about cloud computing than it should
include that cloud uses very few resources to perform the work. Generally, in the cloud, the
servers are used only for special purposes. Now if the resources are used for the particular
functions than it will consume less power. Now if it is using less power than the problem of
freezing will be eliminated.
4. Redundancy: - The best part of the cloud system is that it has the capacity to fight with the
failures in the system on its own. The system failure as if there is any failure occur in the
hardware platform which is just an outbox approach than cloud will handle it.

Disadvantage
1. Security issues: - When we are talking about cloud computing, the biggest problem or the
concern that resides with cloud computing is of security. The using of the cloud services
includes the use of sending or storing the data in the far located data storage systems. Now
if the company is using the service of cloud computing than they need to send their personal
confidential information to the cloud-based systems. In the cloud-based systems the data
stores. The duty of the company over here and the duty of the cloud service provider starts.
They are responsible to manage the data, to provide security to the data.
2. Vendor lock-in problem: - The cloud is having another disadvantage in which the user if
using the service of the cloud service provider than if the user needs to switch from one to
another service provider than it is difficult. The Vendor lock-in problem occurs. And now
this situation is a painful situation in which the user can not able to change the service
provider.
3. Downtime problem: - The next kind of issue that arise in cloud computing is called the
issue of downtime. When either it is cloud or any other system, it is, as usual, a common
problem for every system that gets downtime. So, when the cloud gets the downtime than it
will be a problem for both, the user and the service provider. The cloud has the capability to
solve the faults in the system but still, it will take a few minutes for the cloud to detect the
fault.

Different Organisational structures and information systems
The different kinds of information systems can be ESS, DSS, MIS and TPS. So, these four
different kinds of information systems that are present in the organisation are:
1) ESS: - The very first kind of information system is called as the ESS. In the ESS,
aggregation of the Data takes place. Now, this type of data can be in the form of external or
internal bases and finally it depends upon the usage of the system. These are used for the
purpose of graphics and also for the simulations. In organisations, the Senior Managers are
responsible for this work and with the help of this we can do the projections.
2) DSS: - The next kind of information system is called as the DSS. In the DSS, the
optimization of the task has happened. The lower volume tasks and the higher volume tasks
are being combined together. After combining the task, they are being optimized. The
professionals are being assigned to do this work. And the main task in this is to provide the
special reports and the analysis of designs as well. so the processing in this will be done of
the simulation tasks only.
3) MIS: - The next step in the information is called as the MIS. Under the MIS the summary
of the transaction data is being noted down. And the imputes of the high-volume data and the
simple models will be taken into consideration. The middle man in the company is
responsible for this work. And when the middle man is doing the work, he/ she is responsible
for giving the summary of the reports.
4) TPS: - The next and the last step of the information data is called as the TPS. Under this,
the transactions will be made. And the vents will be recorded under this section of the
information system. The operation supervisor is responsible for this work.
