Background and Current Practice
Sonic Healthcare system has been a core company for many healthcare practices. There are
many divisions of Sonic healthcare system which altogether is known as Sonic health care group.
Their main headquarter is in Sydney, Australia. According to latest reports Sonic Healthcare
group is in of Australia’s top 50 companies.
Cloud computing is a field of computing where IT services and functions are delivered as
flexible to the clients using the power of Internet technologies. Using the cloud for transmitting
data and providing service is not a game-changing the idea; but it integrates different
technologies from various sectors to create indexing which acts an essential tool for various
services.
In today’s world, cloud computing is not what it was build and visioned at the beginning. It was
just merely a medium to provide better web application service to the people, but as the
technology evolved, cloud computing evolved too. Many companies like AWS and etc. provide
the facility to build small servers for low end businesses, because according to their needs they
need not have big and expensive servers as their resources will not be fully utilized and for the
companies that can’t afford a private small cloud server, they store their data in large data center
and pay only for the services they require which reduce the cost and remove the hassle of
maintaining a data center on their own.
Aim/Objective
The aim of this project is to develop a cloud computing-based system which can help in
improving the Sonic healthcare system. Many tragic accidents happen just because of poor
facilities of Sonic healthcare system. Many sectors like transport, communication, education
have been made better by the use of cloud computing technology and the rate of efficiencies
have been increasing ever since, so with the help of this project we want to develop a computing
system that can actually help the Sonic healthcare system.
Start Date and Completion Date
The dates can vary as we proceed with the project but according to our estimation, we expect this
project to be completed in a timeframe of 3-4 months.

Project Benefits
As we have discussed in the above section that health care system has benefited so many sectors
of our world and we have the vision to make the Sonic healthcare system even better than it is
now, by using the power of cloud computing technology.
Using cloud computing in a hospital can improve the efficiency of data transferring so that
medical records can be transferred without any delay in the process. Many people go to other
countries for medical care so using the cloud to store medical records can increase the horizon of
medical records significantly. This will integrate all branches of Sonic healthcare system around
the world.
Having a cloud system can help any patient to use web application to find which doctors are
available at what time so that they can book an appointment beforehand. Also, the doctor can get
notification of what appoint he has booked for the rest of his day.

Nurses can use this technology to track any patients progress, using machine learning algorithms
we can develop a system that can alert nearby nurse station if any patient is crashing or having
any medical emergency,
Integrating cloud computing with the hospital ambulances can also help the emergency
department to be prepared in advance for any urgent medical attention. Also, the ambulance path
can be tracked and a faster and better route can be suggested with traffic analysis, so the delay in
medical is to a minimum, this technique is widely used in taxi services.

Risk Identification
As with any project, this project also comes along with some risk. As we know that there is very
vigorous testing when there is an implementation in the field of healthcare. It takes years to test
and verify whether any new facility or medication can actually help or not. So, the biggest risk is
to build something so huge and expensive than having rejected from the sector it belongs to,
which in this case is the Sonic healthcare system.
We also have to make sure that the database architecture is rock solid because all the information
will be present on that server so it should be up and running at all time and in case of an
emergency there should be backup servers. As a small mistake can create a huge catastrophe in
the hospital.
Project Outcome
The outcome of this project will be a Cloud computing-based Sonic healthcare architecture that
actually can increase the efficiency of this hospital management. Not only the patient but all the
other stakeholder will be benefited from this project. This project requires some investment of
both capital and time but the final product will also be a great deal to the world.

Cost Estimation
It’s hard to decide an actual budget for this kind of project because it includes so many research
and rigorous testing, but according to some studies and research, we think $20 million can really
help this idea to become a reality.
