By merging the company with a multi-national organization, the company now believes
that virtualization and technology is essential and will assists in achieving the company goals.
The two technologies are believed to provide business insights with enormous infrastructure
enhancement. This paper will provide a comprehensive insights on the two types on cloud
computing and virtualization technologies
The need of cloud technology and virtualization
Cloud computing is the ability of an organization to deliver resources on demand,
configured however the users choose and pay according to their consumption. One of the
features of cloud technology is that it sold on demand, according to Amazon it is sold by minute;
it is elastic. By moving to cloud it will offer enormous benefits to the company. First, cloud
computing is self-provisioning; in here the ned users have the ability of spinning up and compute
resources for any type pf workload on demand. Also it is through this advantage that an
organization is able to eliminate the traditional need for IT administrators to manage and
provision computer resources. Second, cloud computing ensures workload resilience; cloud
technology implement redundant resources so as to ensure resilient storage and to keep the
organization users’ essential workloads running. Third, cloud technology ensures flexibility;
usually cloud services is ideal for organizational growth or fluctuating bandwidth. If the
organization needs increases then it is very easy to scale-up so long as one is on cloud
technology. Forth is disaster discovery; with cloud technology a company is able to invest in
robust disaster discovery. Other advantages of cloud technology are automatic software updates,
increased collaboration, capital-expenditure free and one can work from anywhere thus there is
an increased productivity among the company employees (Liu, 2014).

On the other hand virtualization is process of migrating physical systems into a virtual
environment. It is the creation of what computer scientist refer to as virtual version of a device or
a resource. Organizations and a typical company as this one ought to be on the watch out on the
latest technologies which allow the company to run with very few resources such as
virtualization. One of the reasons as to why the company needs to go for virtualization is server
consolidation; this means twenty server applications can be run on a single machine that required
lots of physical computers so as to provide a unique operating system. Second is that
virtualization enables what is known as load balancing and disaster discovery; this provides the
ability for company’s virtual machines which are over utilizing server resources to be moved to
underutilized servers. Also with virtualization there is an improved system security and
reliability; virtualization technology helps in preventing system crashes due to memory
corruption that is caused by software like device drivers. In addition, virtualization provide a
method to better control system devices. By defining what is known as system architecture for
interrupt remapping. Lastly virtualization provides seamless transitions between the various
operating system on one machine (Bowen, Forsheit, & Hutchins, 2017).
The cost of savings in hardware infrastructure
The decision to move to cloud and virtualization can be daunting one. One cost of saving
in hardware infrastructure is on the storage computing hardware. Storage is the primary service
for over 40 percent for small organizations and 35 percent for the medium sized companies. By
implementing the tow technologies and organization is able to move some of storage options to
cloud thus saving on hardware costs. With cloud computing it results to economies of scale; it
ensures fully utilization of hardware resources depending on the company workloads (Pachghare,
2015).

Possible reduction of human which can be realized by implementing cloud and
virtualization
Lots of organizations are realizing the benefit from cloud computing and virtualization.
Example some of the services of cloud computing like IAAS are said to bring in the consumer.
The reimbursement which contains cost-cutting in some of the areas of the on-demand and cost-
saving for staff; meaning that organization pay-per-use meaning that companies plan for the
future without massive investment.

Second, according to IDC (International Data Corporation) there is an increased spending
on IT service by lots of organization. Example it is estimated that in 2013, IT spending as at 47.4
million dollars. In 2017, public IT spending was 107 billion US dollars. But by adopting cloud
computing, companies are able to access computing resources remotely through the internet and
they only need to pay on what they use. In here the companies will have done away with some of
IT human capital spending and thus focus on developing core competencies. On the other hand
virtualization results to purchase of less computer hardware, helps in clearing server space and at
the same time reducing the IT hardware required for maintenance. Lastly, with cloud technology
organizations have eliminated the heavy workload which is created due to paper work. All the
information is stored in digitally cloud server. Offices needed for the physical items such as
filing cabinet will be no longer needed and other budget such as magnetic tapes will be no longer
needed (Rountree & Castrillo, 2016).
Recommendations of the cloud providers
Cloud computing has raised a number of difficulties in regards to compliance with
legislation and protection of personal data. Before planning to use cloud computing and
organization needs to consider the best cloud computing providers. In here customers need to
establish the types of data to give to the cloud. In terms of cloud providers this paper goes for
Amazon cloud providers. One of the reasons is that it is very use to use; AWS is specifically
designed to allow organizations and vendors to securely and quickly host their applications. Also
amazon has provided AWS management console to access the AWS’s application hosting
platform. Second AWS is flexible, this enables one to select the type of operating systems they
would wish for their organization. Third, AWS is cost effective; i.e. one only pay for the
computer power with no long term contracts. Forth cloud services provided by Amazon are

reliable, an organization is able to take advantage of scalability, reliability, and a secure global
computing infrastructure. Lastly, amazon cloud computing services are secure which are able to
utilize and end to end approach type of security.
On virtualization, an organization needs to go for Google Company. This is because the
company now supports nested virtualization in beta. This feature will allow an organization to
run more than one virtual machine. With nested virtualization makes very easier for an
organization for the users to move their on-premises virtualized workloads. Lastly, Google
provides scale computing which is one of the leading HC3 solutions. Lastly Google provides
appOrbit’s application platform which gives organizations both flexibility and cloud-native
applications (Srinivasan, 2014).
