INTRODUCTION
Reflection can be termed as review a previous experience or incident in order to learn
from key areas that need to be improved so that better services can be given to patient for its cure
and treatment. Registered nurse is nurse that has been graduates from nursing program and is
responsible for patient care; educate them for their better health and well being. This is report
pertaining to reflection of learning experienced as registered nurse at work and the way I can
learn communication that helps in treatment of patient and delivering them best services.
As a role of nurse I have learned that communication skills is crucial as it helps in
providing patient necessary information about the way it can easily recover from the health issue
(O’Connell, McCarthy and Savage, 2019). I also get insight that nurse contributes a lot in
treating the patient by providing care, medicine and several other facilities so that it can be easily
recover (Dukhu, Purcell and Bulley, 2018). Moreover, while performing duty as registered nurse
I get to know about the roles and responsibilities that it perform to treat patient (Pratt, Moroney
and Middleton, 2020). Such as it assess the patient overall condition, make records of medical
histories and symptoms and administer the patient medicine and treatment for better outcome
(Liu and Aungsuroch, 2018).
The nurse plays an important role in treatment of patient as it provides appropriate care,
medicine and assessment actual condition of patient. Nurse through recoding medical histories
and symptoms, administrating medicine and treatment are able to contribute a lot in patient
recovery from the health issue or chronic diseases (Wolf and et.al., 2017). Like one the real
examples that I have face while playing role of nurse to provide support as well as care to patient
can be illustrated as follows “ A patient that has been suffering from chronic illness been
admitted in the hospital that have heart diseases so the nurse by examine the medical history of
the patient is able to understand that all these are due to lack of eating nutritional food, less
physical activities undertaken by individual. So, as a role of nurse I have communicated that it
needs to change its lifestyles in order to stay healthy and fit for longer time frame (Gyllensten,
Andersson and Muller, 2017). Moreover, it has been inform to patient that it need to do physical
activity on daily basis, must have healthy eating to stay safe and secure. I also provided
necessary support and guidance by recording and assessing its health issue so that it can be
effective treated and can be saved (Heggdal and et.al., 2021). The previous experience also helps
me in knowing that I have good communication and interpersonal skills that lead me in

understanding, listening and provide appropriate care and support to patient so that it can feel
positive, active and less stressed out.
Therapeutic communication can be stated as collection of techniques that prioritize
mental, physical and emotional well being of patient (Hartley and et.al., 2020). From my
perspective and learning experience, I get to know that Nurse plays an important role in
providing support as well as information to patient so that it can easily recover (Boström and
et.al., 2020). The nurse also must have knowledge pertaining to maintaining a level of
professional distancing and objectivity while performing its duties or provide care to patient that
is suffering from chronic illness (Pratt, Moroney and Middleton, 2020). Nurse through actively
listening, focusing on treatment of patient and asking open end questions is able to understand
patient and provide requirement care and treatment (Ada and et.al. , 2021). I have learned that
when I may use of Therapeutic communication techniques such as respecting the view point of
the patient, asking if they have any questions or welcoming them. All these lead in providing
more care and support to patient and contribute in maintaining strong relationship and person
centred care in chronic illness (Erol and et.al., 2018).
Through my experience I have learn that Therapeutic nurse patient relation can be stated
as relationship that is solely based on mutual respect, trust and respect. Both individuals have
faith in each other that is patient clearly disclosed its personal detail and health issue to the nurse
so that it can be easily treated (Soukup and et.al., 2018). I get to know that nurse through
understanding physical, mental and emotional states of patient is able to delivered better
healthcare services to patient (Jeffs and et.al., 2017.). I have also learnt that nurse through taking
feedback from patient is able to understand the whether it is able to understand the direction or
information given by it or not (Kaihlanen, 2019). Confirm understanding, use of words and
follow up contribute in getting information that the patient has understand the way it can treated
or recover (Van Bogaert and et.al., 2017).
From my previous experience it can be examined that nurse patient relationship
therapeutic communication and personcentred care in chronic illness. Gratitude, respect give by
nurse to its patient contributes in providing personcentred care to patient so that it can quickly
recover from the diseases (Price, 2017). Moreover, this type of relationship helps in building
mutual trust, sharing of personal health detail of patient so that alternative solution can be used to

treat them. Personalised care contribute patient in making happy and satisfied their by reducing
its stress level and making its health more better (Ali and et.al., 2020). At the same time it can be
stated that personalised care helps in building effective relationship between nurses and patient.
Helps in understanding the actual condition of patient thereby helps in providing appropriate
medication so that it can easily overcome from chronic diseases (Murray, 2019). So, as
registered nurses I have learnt lot many thing the way patient can be provided care for their
effective treatment so that they can enjoy better lifestyles ahead (MorenoPoyato and et.al.,
2020).
CONCLUSION
Form the above analysis it can be concluded that registered Nurse lead a important role
in treatment of patient as it understand, analysis or assess actual condition of the patient. At the
same time provide time to time medicine and other care and support to patient for its recovery
from health issue. Therefore it can be summarised that nurse patient relationship therapeutic
