Factors influencing how senior nurses and
midwives acquire and integrate coaching skills
into routine practice: a grounded theory
studyNational Practice Standards for Nurses in
General Practice
1. Propose a research question
(approx. word count 100)
To assess the factors influencing nursing and
midwifery practice.
As per the (NMBA), Nursing and
Midwifery board of Australia undertakes
effective functioning in regard to set by the
Health Practitioner Regulation National Law
in regard to practice of nursing and midwifery
so that they could play crucial role in regard
to protect public. It also helps in developing
standards, codes and guidelines in regard to
carry out effective practice for nurses and
midwives. Carrying out nursing and
midwifery practice is considered as the
education program which is duly recognised
in the country and thus provide best services
to patients.
2. Conduct a literature search and identify
literature relevant to the research question.
APPEND THE SEARCH HISTORY TO THE
ASSIGNMENT
3. Write a Literature Review that describes
what is already known about the research
question
(approx. word count 1,100)
As per the view of Ion & et.al., (2015)
it can be stated that businesses are requires to
make huge investment in order to enhance the
learning opportunities of nurses and
midwifery so that they could carry out their
functions in an appropriate manner. herefore,
appropriate training is being provided to
managers in regard to make them successful
and carry out their operations in an effective

way. Hence, health professionals are required
to translate managers into successful coach so
that effective practice is being carried out and
thus it remains largely unexplored. There are
different factors that has been identified
which impacts upon the nursing and
midwifery practices to provide due care and
support to patients (Ion & et.al., 2015).
However, nurses and midwifery personnel are
required to undertake effective practices so
that health care professionals are required to
deliver better care and support services to
patients and thus satisfy their needs. The main
outcomes of providing training and coaching
to nursing and midwifery persons so that they
could render better services to health care
users and thus carry out their role
successfully. However, such process through
which health professionals translate to carry
out successful practice outcomes and thus
remains largely unexplored. However,
Bryant‐Lukosius & et.al., (2016) argued that
through carrying out the study it reflects that
nursing staff and midwifery personnel so that
through obtaining proper training and
coaching they could accomplish their targets.
Thus, all such factors helps in influencing the
nursing and midwifery practices impacts upon
health care services (Bryant‐Lukosius & et.al.,
2016).
As per the view of Higgins & et.al.,
(2014) healthcare nature could carry out
effective practices so that proepr care and
support could be carried out in an effective
service provision between health care
providers and users. Health professionals are
required to adopt effective practices so that
primary care systems helps in providing both
preventive health care and ongoing problems
in terms of managing the best results. It
involves different factors that impacts upon
the health systems so that skilled senior
nurses are focused towards providing better
care and support to patients (Higgins & et.al.,

2014). Thus, nursing and midwifery
practitioners are required to render the best
care and support so that redefining the
boundaries within which professionals are
working in regard to expand their scope and
thus provide safe and healthy working style
within care setting. However, Bedwell,
McGowan & Lavender (2015) argued that as
per the Australian Nursing Federation
Competency Standards adopted by nursing
professional in regard to render better practice
helps in focusing upon the registered nurses
so that they are able to carry out effective
practices so that proper services could be
provided to patients. Also, it is considered as
the best practice through which clinical
setting results in carrying out the best practice
so that appropriate standards could be adopted
in terms of enhancing the midwives and
nursing practices so that proper health care
services could be provided to patients. The
identified standards helps nurses and
midwifery practitioners to focus upon the
work carried out by them so that they could
be deliver quality health care services to
individuals in regard to overcome their issues
(Bedwell, McGowan & Lavender, 2015).
Thus, it can be carried out that care
model helps in improving the general care
practice for patients so that health could be
improved of care users so that desired results
could be attained. Hence, it could be assessed
that professional standards need to be set so
that nurses and midwifery practices are being
carried out in an effective and efficient way so
that set goals could be attained (Dehghani,
Mosalanejad & Dehghan-Nayeri, 2015).
However, it could be assessed that
professional midwives play a crucial role in
terms of providing effective training to
produce a competent midwife practices and
thus allocate appropriate resources so that
opportunity could be provided to nurses and
midwives regarding improving their

efficiency and thus enhance the satisfaction
level of care users.
Care home is required to identify the
different factors that impacts upon the
performance of care providers and therefore
provide them appropriate training so that it
could improve their service level in terms of
providing appropriate quality care and support
to patients so that best services could be
rendered to care users (Mollart & et.al.,
2013). Nurses need to carry out appropriate
ethics in regard to respect human values,
beliefs, rights and dignity so that best clinical
practices is being carried out in terms of
providing appropriate health care services to
users.
As per the view of Rafferty &
Fairbrother (2015) it could be assessed that
varied factors influence the nursing midwifery
practices perceives the provision of adopting
effective practices and improve their health
status so that they could improve their health
in an effective and efficient way. Thus,
through using appropriate health care
facilities it focuses upon raising their
standards and thus future of midwifery
training and practice results in enhancing their
performance so that best results could be
attained (Rafferty & Fairbrother, 2015).
With the help of carrying out effective
health and safety standards so that best
services could be rendered to patients. Thus,
appropriate ethical standards need to be
adopted which results in carrying out effective
practice so that patients could be provided
best services and thus carry out effective
application of ethical principles. Therefore, it
is significant for them to provide appropriate
services so that service standards could be
improved and thus best performance could be
attained (Laschinger & Fida, 2015).

4. How well does the existing literature address
your research question?
In answering this question consider if your
research question has been fully answered,
partially answered, or not answered at all.
What further research could be conducted
(and its characteristics such as design,
sample, outcome measures) that might
provide important information to answer
your research question AND what are some
ethical considerations that apply to these
possible research studies (approx. word
count 300)
It can be assessed that the adopted
research question answers the literature in an
effective way as it helps in providing full
response to the adopted study. Therefore,
researcher is required to undertake effective
research methodology tools so that
appropriate sample could be selected in order
to conduct the research. It is essential for
scholar to undertake best research design and
selects observational research design in regard
to conduct the study. It is considered as the
blueprint that could be stated that such tactic
helps in integrating with overall strategy in
regard to undertake effective approaches in an
effective and efficient way. Hence, researcher
identifies the collection, measurement and
analysis of data in regard to carry out
effective research design so that best results
could be carried out. Also, selecting sample
size from the whole universe in regard to
complete the study. Hence, it is essential for
them to adopt effective sample size i.e. of 30
respondents in order to identify the factors
that influences the nursing and midwifery
practices. Thus, probability sampling method
has been selected which results in adopting
appropriate sample from the universe so that
desired results could be attained. Further,
appropriate outcome measures need to be
selected in terms of carrying out effective

information and thus answer the research
question in order to provide effective result so
that it could be effective to identify the factors
that influence the nursing and midwifery
practices so that best care and support could
be provided to patients. Hence, it is crucial for
them to improve the research question and
thus carry out effective outcomes so that best
outcomes could be attained. Moreover, it is
significant for scholar to undertake effective
ethical considerations so that researcher could
not get impacted from carrying out the study.
Researcher need to assess the values and
beliefs so that research questions could be
carried out effectively and do not impact upon
the study.
