INTRODUCTION
Coach can be determined to be person who has proper knowledge and understanding for
particular area. In other words, he she is involved in instruction, training and direction for the
operations of individual or sports team (Occhino, Mallett and Rynne, 2013). In order to develop
skills for particular game, it requires one to have proper coach who will be able to provide proper
training so that skills can be developed. Present report is coaching year 3 so that they will be able
to develop their skills. Further, it covers the role of the coach in society and ways through which
their roles can reach beyond sporting performance of the individual.

In order to make student understand and to develop their skills for football, it is important
for the coach to make use of collaborative learning. This is a type of learning that learning and
teaching that involves a group. Main role of sports coaches is to provide proper assistance so that
they will be able to develop to their full potential (Johnson, Pierce and Ridley, 2015). Further,
they are responsible making proper analysis of the performance. When coaching is provided,
then it required to have analysis made for identifying the areas in which improvement is
required. There are conditions in which members of the team my feel discouraged and as a coach
it is important to instruct the skills that are in relevant and to boost up their moral so that they can
put on their full efforts to perform their given role. There are different type of roles that has to be
played by a coach. In this context, it includes roles like mentor, motivator, instructor, fact finder,
organizer, planner, counsellor, advisor, etc. (Wright, Carling and Collins, 2014). Moreover, it is
essential for the coach to make sure that right conditions are developed so that they will be able
to develop learning. In addition to this, it is also important to make sure that ways are developed
through which team members are motivated. The coach should be able to asset athletes in order
to provide proper training programs and healthy interaction with all the team member. In football
with the efforts of single member it is not possible to win the game. With this respect, it is
important to make sure that all members have proper understanding for the type of skills that
other possess and there is effective coordination so that they will be able to have healthy gaming
(Streb Ricci, Fabris Moreira and Soares Pontoglio, 2016). In order to provide training, it is
required to have proper analysis and monitoring of athletes so that the areas in which

improvement is required can be identified. Accordingly, they need to be provided with training
so that they can overcome the issues.
All these roles that are discussed are effective enough to reach beyond the sporting
performance of the individuals. This is because, coach is able to develop discipline in life that is
highly important for individuals to have (Potrac, Nelson and O’Gorman, 2016). When coach is
able to provide proper training, then they are able to develop understanding for the requirement
in task of life. In order to perform any type of role it requires one to have certain set of skills and
through coaching it enables to reach beyond just the sporting performance. For social aspect, it
requires one to be disciplined and for the year 3 students it becomes helpful develop their
understanding so that they will be able to excel in life. Further, there are different aspects of life
in which one get discourage and when there is effective training provided, then it becomes
helpful enough to get motivated in all the type of problems that are faced (Occhino, Mallett and
Rynne, 2013). Further, the rate of interaction and understanding that need to have within class is
also developed. It is essential to have positive perception within the mind so that as it enables to
develop
There are different type or ways of teaching and these are called pedagogical approaches.
Each any every coach has their own way of teaching and so they make use of personal pedagogy.
In this context, I make use of open ended instructions in which it enables to develop
understanding for complex or multiple answers. Further, includes inquiry learning, as per this
teaching it involves others members who have proper idea about the topic which is discussed.
Moreover, it contains experimental learning in which the type of role that is given at the initial
stage are not given (Johnson, Pierce and Ridley, 2015). Instead, the roles are exchanges so that
each member will be able to develop their own areas in which they will be able to enhance their
skills. In addition to this, close monitoring is done so that the issues or the problems that are
faced by athletes are identified. As per the findings made, each other them are provided with
training and strategies are developed that helps they will be able to develop their skills and
capabilities and they are able to improve their game.
B. Own personal strengths and areas for improvement and plan for future professional
development
I Provide coaching to Year 3 football students and it helps in providing necessary
knowledge to the students. It is essential that I should have necessary skills that are required by

me for training Year 3 students. I prepare curriculum plan for them in which I make learning
objectives for all the sessions. It supports for providing necessary directions and instructions to
the subordinates and on the basis of that all the necessary functional activities in the sports
grounds are performed. My strengths includes good leadership skills and I am very good at
rendering instructions and directions to the students.
Commands given by me are followed by all the students that are taking part in the
football sessions. My physical fitness is good and I have god endurance, strength, speed, agility,
power, flexibility and stamina which aid me for giving better and effective directions and
instructions to the students. It also inspires my students to perform well in their football games.
My time management skills are also good which supports me to effectively start a session and
complete all the sports activities on the due time.

Time management is one significant part of sports and it is essential that all the scheduled
activities in the sports should be performed on due time. In addition to that time management
skills posses by me help me for performing all the necessary sports' activity on due time without
facing many complications. In addition to that I become capable for finishing my daily chores on
due time so that I can work well professionally without facing many worries. My leadership
skills are good and all my students abide by the directions that are given by me to them. I make
use of participative leadership style so that involvement of all the students should be taken in the
football game.
However, I have some weaknesses also and it is essential that I should work on that so
that I can finish my work. I am weak in my communication skills and due to that I face issues in
making interaction with my students. It is vital that as a coach I should have strong verbal and

non verbal skills so that I can pass necessary information with my students in effective manner.
Conveying messages is very important in the sports field so that they could understand the
concepts and rules that are followed in the games of football.
I lack effective communication skills due to which I face difficulties in imparting
necessary training on the football field to the students. Moreover, there are various ways that I
could use for improving and developing my skills and capabilities. I can join training sessions so
that I can acquire various methods that could be used for training the students in teaching
football. In addition to that I can read good books and journals in which ways for making
effective interactions are taught to the students. I can also watch television programs so that I can
learn methods through which communication and interaction can be made with the students.
All the above mentioned methods will help me in acquiring good verbal and non verbal
communication skills so that I can talk and interact with the students on the football ground. I
can also take regular feedback from my students about my improvements in the communication
skills that are posses by me. Reviews given by my students will help me in identifying my weak
performing areas and on the basis of that I will improve on that. Moreover, it will help me in
improving at a faster pace without facing many difficulties. I will also try to practically
implement all my learnt methods so that there will be fast improvements in my existing
communication skills. I will directly ask open ended questions to the students so that their
involvement could be taken in the game. In addition to that I will make efforts for actively
listening to the messages sent by my students on the ground so that I can interact effectively with
the students. I will also try for observing players on the grounds so that I can give practical
demonstrations to them regarding the game. Moreover, as a coach I will always try that my
students should understand the meaning of messages that are conveyed by me.
CONCLUSION
As per the findings, it can be identified that coaches are highly helpful in order to develop
the areas in which improvement is required. It is important for a coach to have effective
communication so that they will be able to develop trust and confidence for the work they
perform. Further, it is essential that coach have effective experience, this enables to them to
develop their own personal pedagogy. As per the type of perception that is developed by the
coach, they can list out the strategies that will enable to them train athletes. In addition to this, all

the team members should be healthy interaction so that there is proper coordination and this
helps to have healthy game.
