Coastal medical center (CMC) is a 450-bed regional hospital that provides multiple
ranges of services within the hospital. This hospital provides services in the coastal city,
including three countries. The major threats of CMC are hostile competition with LMC and
JMC. Therefore, it is important to formulate a strategic plan for effective growth in the
organization. This paper aims to the benefits of a strategic map in accomplishing the goals
and objectives of the CMC.
According to Blakeman (2018), communication plays an important role in
implementing the strategic plan. There are many techniques and tools in establishing or
planning a strategic plan. However, strategic planning would be ineffective if the plan is not
clear or understood by the other member of the hospital. The strategic plan involves many
professionals to implement their responsibilities and perform their respective goals. However,
due to lack of communication, the strategic plan failed in bringing the outcomes of the
organization.
The presentation of strategic management is the major key to achieving or
accomplishing the goals of the organization. The performance requires multiple elements
such as community education, implementation of new healthcare services, and others. The
strategic plan must be prepared to influence the interest of the audience or focusing on their
needs. The presentation of the strategic plan can also use the audiovisual support for
enhancing the presentation. The effective usage of videos, interactive whiteboards, and
webcasting would let the audience remember the presentation for a longer time (Harrison,
2020).
It is important to maintain the interest of the audience by demonstrating along with
supporting the strategy with relevant theories and visual diagrams such as facts and figures
(Goransson, & Fagerholm, 2018). Following the question and answer session, that would

help in understanding the effectiveness of the strategy and the purpose of the strategy. All
these are nothing but effective communication. The communication helps in improving the
strategy, conveying the strategic plan, and build engagement with the audience. CMC have
threats of holistic competition, decrease in the revenues and conflicts among the leaders of
the organization. This leads to decreasing the influence of professional management and
reduced the performance of the organization.
Strategic mapping is an effective tool for measuring and accessing the overall
performance, along with activities of the coastal medical center (CMC). This tool helps
effectively in assigning the task and is better in risk management. The strategy map would act
as a platform where everyone can contribute and process the implementation of the strategy
(Boonsothonsatit, 2017). This tool is a graphical representation of the strategies that would be
implemented by the organizations. The mission and vision of the organization would be

growth. With the help of these elements, the strategy would be planned and implemented.
The hospital is dynamic in nature, and it is continuously evolving. Therefore, it is important
to continuously plan for strategies to improve and implement the effective tools in delivering
the effective overall health outcomes of the organizations. With the help of a strategic map, it
can be understood that the learning and growth of the organization would improve with a
positive employee workplace and improving leadership. Similarly, in the financial section, it
can be understood that the objective of the organization is to reduce the costs to attract the
customers and, however, increasing the revenues. Here, the customer is patients, and it is
essential to ensure safety and improve the quality of care by providing effective
transportation such as ambulance services.
From the above discussion, it has been understood that a strategic map is an effective
tool for communication. Effective communication would enhance the motivations and
improve the performance of the employees of the organization. It is a powerful tool that helps
in translating the strategy into actions. The employees of the organization clearly understand
the goals of the organization and work in the direction of accomplishing it.
