is an important technique that is being used by criminal justice system in order to know about
the incidents happen in criminal area or suspected region. This mainly cover some important

evaluate the technique through which police officer can properly conduct questioning with

Cognitive interview is mainly a technique which is being used in order to improve the
accuracy and memory of the eyewitness and to record their statements. This mainly consist of

the witness and also keep a record on all the details that has been given about the incident in
question this mainly provides a proper and accurate picture of the scenario which was being
conducted add that time (Palvia, 2020).
Secondly reverse the order is being used in which witness used to recall each and
every detail of the incident in reverse order in which they used to talk about the initial and the
end of this incident. This mainly helps out to remove the chances of false reporting. The other
one is changed perspective which provides the witness reporting in which the viewpoint of
any other persons at the time of the incident has taken place will be focused. It mainly aims to
direct and trigger the memory of the witness about that incident (Tsoi and et. al., 2017). This
stage mainly provides A proper and complete explanation about the happening to the
interviewer. And lastly reinstate the context is mainly a stage where fitness is being asked
and also being made to mentally came back to the incident which will help them out to
complete and also to recall all the happening that has taken place. All such techniques Focus
on maintaining a proper efficiency and also in analysing and improving the accuracy of all

the eyewitness as this used to be more effective then all the other standard police interview
methods.
Evaluation of cognitive interview
A cognitive interview is an advanced approached and technique that is being
employed by all the police officers in order to conduct a proper questioning of witness for
general events and also to enhance and improve the memory recall of the event that has taken
place earlier. This technique is mainly being criticised as it is a time-consuming process for
all the police officers and there were being required a proper specific training and expertise in
order to use this cognitive interview technique correctly and accurately (Lo, and Hew, 2020).
All these cognitive interviews used to take a longer time as it required standard methods
which are being used in interviewing any person. All the cognitive interview were being
analysed to produce accurate information and also various interviews are being conducted
which used to provide a standard manner about it.
Thus, Cognitive interview helps out to maintain integrated effective memory and also recalls
techniques through which a proper new questioning can be implemented and it also helps out
to gain accurate eyewitness testimonies. It focuses on the unreliability of a witness and also
try to attempt on the methods through which they can improve the retrieval and also enhance
their interviewing method. This is a questioning technique which are generally been used by
police to get proper evidence on record about the crime scene from all the eyewitness and
from the victim’s memory (KRAFT, and NAISH, 2020). It helps out to evaluate to analyse all
the evidence and it portrays all the decisions that are being laid out to make important focus.
CI provides the method through which the person can there by maintain all the records and
keep the proper framework of witnessing all the questions (KKnouse, and et. Al., 2017). It
mainly guides the police officer’s ton ask all the relevant question with proper expertise
technique through which they can be able to grasp all the vary nature and also reach to the
real face and judgement at an adequate time-period. All such reversing and the reinstate
stages help pout to implement all the nature and the method in which the witness can properly
bring examined and they can maintain the working in an accurate manner. All such help out
to enhance the category and the growth through which work is being made and the proper
functioning can be implemented.

technique and it is mainly helpful for all the police officers in order to conduct a proper
interview of the eyewitness regarding the evidence and all the happening of event to be
discussed in a proper manner. This is a technique which is being used by the expertise with

being identified and all their evidence is being analysed with proper techniques. It is also
