I have completed my graduation from Gitam University with high percentage. While
studying in the University, the best experience for me was to be selected as one of the team
members for the University cricket team. From this experience, I have learned that self-
confidence and the urge to learn is always important for excelling in life. I need to have the
keenness and urge to learn new things in order to include new feathers to my hat. Post my
graduation from Gitam University passed my IELTS examination with flying colors that
successfully led to my admission to CQ University.
Brief description of the experience relating to the first two weeks of the studies in CQ
University
The two skills that I learnt in the unit COIT20249 are presentation and team work. Both
presentation and team work are important. Both the skills have helped me during the first two
weeks of my study in the CQ University. During the first two weeks in CQ University, I have
learned the significance of team work and being presentable. Being presentable will help me in
future to explain particular things in terms of my project to the team members. In addition to, the
team work skills will help me to get the desired ideas and results from the team members.
Reflecting my contribution towards the experience
The experience has made me a better person. Previously, I lacked self-confidence about
doing things. I was always unsure of my capabilities that hampered my ability to take initiative.
The unit COIT20249 helped me learn presentation and team building that helped me to gain

confidence and improve my capabilities in the future. I took into consideration the tips and skills
given by the course coordinator for improving my skills.
Demonstrating my learning from the experience
From the above experience, I have learned that it is essential to have the urge and
enthusiasm to learn new things. This provides an opportunity to have a positive and broad mind
set towards future. As a result, the positive attitude helps in learning new things much quickly.
Thus, the unit COIT20249 has helped me to learn the significance of team building and
presentation thereby, ensuring success for me in future.
Describe how I would handle the experience differently in the future
In future, I would use the team building skills learnt from unit COIT20249 for building
a positive working environment and work collaboratively thereby, achieving the best results. On
the other hand, the presentation skills learnt in unit COIT20249 will help me to create a nice
impression with the other party thereby, creating a positive and friendly relationship.
Evaluating both the positive and negatives impacts of my overall experience
The overall experience of the unit COIT20249 had both positive and negative impact on
me personally. On the positive side, I have learned to be more confident that has boosted my
presentation in front of others. Additionally, the the team building experience learnt from unit
COIT20249 will help me in future to work together with others as a team. However, one of the
negatives of the experience while learning from unit COIT20249 includes my ability to prioritize
things during the learning process.

What would you do in this situation in the case scenario and why?
According to the given situation, I would not disclose any information to my journalist
friend regarding the movie. As an ICT professional, it is against the Code of Ethics and Practices
that I reveal any information related to my work to the public in exchange of money. However,
considering my current personal situation, the issues I am suffering financially, I might give a
second thought to my friend’s proposal because will be safeguarding and protecting me. But
according to ACS Code of Ethics and Practices, I am prohibited to consider my personal gain or
profit in exchange of money though revealing the information might not harmful for me.
What elements from the ACS document/s would you consider as the basis for your actions?
The element of the ACS documents that I am considering as the basis for my action
includes:
The Primacy of the Public Interest: According to this element of ACS, I need to place the
interest of the public above my personal, sectional and business interests. In spite of knowing my
present financial condition and that I will be highly rewarded if I provide information to my
journalist friend, I am not supposed to reveal information related to my project to anyone. Thus,
it is mandatory for me to keep my personal agenda and desires aside and maintain the element of
the ethics.
The Enhancement of Quality of Life: According to this element, I am supposed to enhance the
quality of life of the people affected by my work. Thus, I have every right to improve the quality

and standard of my life. But the first element contradicts my decision of revealing the
information to my journalist friend, as I have to maintain the primacy of the public interest.
Honesty: According to this element, I need to be honest towards my work thereby, justifying my
job role and responsibility. I need to represent my skills, products, services and knowledge
honestly while working as an ICT professional. Thus, in spite of suffering from financial crisis, I
have to be honest with me and my job role and must not reveal information to my journalist
friend for the sake of money.
Competence: According to this element of the ACS, I am supposed to show care towards my
own job role and responsibility and use my skills and knowledge for completing things
successfully. Thus, I cannot consider my personal issues while delivering my duties as an ICT
professional.
Professional development: In order to combat with my current financial condition, I need to
upgrade my existing skills and knowledge required for my job roles and responsibilities rather
than taking help of unfair activities such as revealing secret information in terms of my work in
exchange of money.
Professionalism: According to the last element, I need to improve the integrity of ACS by
having and showing respect to all the fellow members. I can do this by ensuring honesty and
competence towards my work and not let lose to any bribe.

During the unit learning COIT20249, I have used both listening and verbal
communication skills effectively. This is while attending the classes of unit COIT20249 when I
actively listened to the lecturer and verbally communicated with the lecturer and the class mates.

I have used my reading skills for going through the lectures provided by the lecturer
while studying.

I used the diversity and competency skills to work with fellow students from different
cultures while playing cricket for the University.

The communication and collaboration technology that I learnt in unit COIT20249 is
presentation. This would help me in future for explaining things related to my project thereby,
explaining requirements to the team members.
