healthcare can be defined as the professional of health care are playing their complementary
roles and working together with the corporation, sharing the problems and responsibilities
and together making a decision to work according to the plans (Petri, 2010). World Health
Organization defined the collaborative practice as a state, which occurs as and when various
health workers from various professional backgrounds working together with families,
communities, patients, and carers to give the best quality of care (Zwarenstein, 2009).
Collaborate helps the professional in communicating effectively which result in the
performance growth. Effective teamwork and good working relationships in healthcare and
community care can result in reducing errors and improve outcomes. Various challenges such
as no mutual trust and boundaries can hinder the growth of the successful collaboration
(Rycroft-Malone, 2015).
This research essay explores the role about the collaborative practice in the case
management, features of collaboration, and the challenges that hinder the growth of the
collaborative practice.
Role of collaborative practice

outcomes, which helps in increasing the potential for efficient and cost-effective delivery of

The term collaboration is commonly mentioned in healthcare and has a very good grip
on healthcare, as it is a solution to the complexity, which is available in the healthcare
system. This is because due to this different interest came together intending to achieve a
common goal and reduces the complexities. The concept of the collaboration was entered
healthcare literature in the year 1940s in terms to eliminate the complexity among the nursing
and medicines as the dominant interest.
Collaboration is capable of reducing duplications of health care, helps in avoiding the
gaps and able to reduce the costs in the essence of case management. It consists of regular
communication with patients, and various services and professionals, and caregivers in which
they came into contact ('Brien, 2009).
