Introduction
In this following research proposal, the main focus is on the college students who are going
through certain stressful situations. Stress is a feeling of anxiety and tension, which leads to
frustration, anger, and nervousness. Stress can be a positive factor as well as a negative factor. In
this research proposal, the focus is on the negative issues of stress that the students are
experiencing. Students of college are becoming stressful because of different factors (Wahed and
Hassan, 2017). This, in turn, affects their lifestyle or their way of living. This will explain the
negative issues that are related to the physical problems and the physiological issues that the
students are going through. This stress factor increases the barriers in the lives of many young
college students. It affects their career as well as their ways of communicating. This is also
leading to certain academic problems. The following proposal shall deal with the literature
review and the research methodology.
Aims and Objectives
The following research aims and objectives are:
To identify the physical and physiological issues of the college students
To understand the impact of stress on college students
To identify the ways of overcoming the stress factors
Research Question
In what ways stress factors are impacting the college students?

Literature review
Based on the recent study by Beiter et al., (2015), stated that there have a rapid increase in the
stress faced by the college students worldwide. The study shows that the students gets inadequate
amount of time for themselves and it has led to the increase of the stress. According to, Wahed
and Hassan, (2017), it showed that the students have been facing pressure which are academic in
nature and the most debatable topic is the pressure which they face accordingly for completing
their academic problems which arise due to short time allocated for them. The problem that they
face for getting their studies done and tackling through the importance of the grades that they
need to get a good job in a good company has been a major concern in the study (Gupta et al.,
2015).
According to the viewpoint of, Beiter et al., (2015), it was found that the stress often lead to the
increase in the physical problems and the physiological issues in the student. The pressure of
studies also creates a negative impact on the students mind and this leads rise in suicide and
depression. According to the study Wahed and Hassan, (2017), the increase in the stress also
increases the loss of energy, increase in headaches and the loss of appetite is common for the
college students who go through stress. Many studies showed that the increase in the stress also
leads to the social awkwardness in students and they also avoid the assistance of the counsellors
which the college provides to them. This also leads to the increase in the illness of the students
and affects their health.
In accordance with Gupta et al., (2015), the students who are studying abroad faces many stress
in the college life rather than the common stress of being in a different country. They falls under
the problem of the difference of the culture in different country, the different background in the

political issues of the company. The stress that arise are the basic barrier of the communication
and the difference in the support by the society in which they grew up. The adjustment in the
different culture is the major problem of the stress of the college students. The study of,
Woodford, Kulick and Atteberry, (2015), that the difficulty in the different education system in
different country is also a major concern for the stress of student.
Based on the viewpoint of Saeed et al., (2016), it’s proven that the result of failing consecutively
in major classes also leads to the stress of the college student. The common problem is that the
native system of the school and the college are drastically different and competitive which is a
major ground for many students as they could not adjust accordingly. The study of, Woodford,
Kulick and Atteberry, (2015), also shows that the international students also faces the problem in
financial support in many countries. The increase in the submission of the assignments and the
low date availability of submission is a major concern for the rise of the stress in the students.

Methodology
Research Philosophy
In this following research study, pragmatism is taken into consideration. Pragmatism is a method
by which, the research scholar feel free to use any of the methods that are appropriate for the
research study. This process is correlated with qualitative as well as quantitative method.
Research Design
Research design states the way the research should be designed. This consists of the methods that
are used for collecting data (Lowe et al., 2019). Among the different types of research design
methods, exploratory research design method can be taken. This research design helpful for
finding out the problem and work according to it.
Data Collection Method
In this following research method, both the quantitative and qualitative method is taken into
consideration. Quantitative method or primary sources are used for conducting survey and
interview, and the qualitative method is used for gaining some information from the sources i.e.
websites, journals, blogs, etc (Bentaib, Meynet and Bleyer, 2015). With the help of survey and
interview, the research scholar will be able to gain some knowledge about the stress factors that
the students are facing.
Sampling Technique
In this, both the qualitative and quantitative data collection method is taken into consideration.
The survey will be conducted among 50 college students in understanding their stress factors.
Thus, the sample size for this research study is 50. Both males and females should be taken into
consideration for this survey work.

Limitations
In this research study, certain limitations can be observed. However, the most vital one is the
lack of using the interview session. This research study does not conduct the interview among
the college students. This creates a gap as some more information could have been acquired from
the interview.
Ethical Considerations
For maintaining ethics, the research scholar should try to find information from valid websites.
Along with this, they should also focus on avoiding the biases in the survey session.
