Through this letter, I am seeking your approval to write my research proposal on
the topic of benefits of open green space in college campus.
As a management student, I have interest in this topic because I feel that the
college campus is an important environment which can be utilized for the
purpose of student development as well as economic pursuits. Access to well-
maintained green space in college campus can positively enhance student’s
experience in college and the aesthetic qualities and management style
influences use of green space. As diverse type of student visits college campus,
multiple form of green space is fulfill the needs of students. The focus on
implementing green campus initiative can also help to understand ways by which
it can promote sustainability and improve quality of life of stakeholders.
The research question that I have developed related to the research question is
‘What would be the impact of maintaining green space in college and its
influence on diverse type of students coming in college campus?’. I aim to not
just study the benefits of such space for students, but also find out ways in which
such green space can enhance the reputation of the college. Some readings or
source that I have found till now to get answer to the research question are as
follows:

In the research article by Speake, Edmondson and Nawaz (2013), the author
investigates about the student’s perception related to the use of green space in
college by conducting a survey at Liverpool Hope University. The findings from
the study revealed that large number of students utilizes green space and they

consider it as an important part of campus environment. The study also revealed
quality of green as an important factor that can influence greenspace use. The
study highlights green space as an opportunity to develop student’s
understanding about ecological diversity. This shows that green space can be a
potential symbol of university and it gives the implication to promote such
important spaces in community.
Although the above two articles gives details on perception as well as quality of
life of stakeholders, I am planning to engage in further research and find at least
five more articles so that I can further enhance my research. This will also help to
identify appropriate research method that can fulfill research gaps and help to get
useful findings and identify issues which have still remain unanswered. My plan
is to complete all the research activities by 10th August so that I get adequate
time to give my draft and outline of research before my submission date. After
receiving tutor’s feedback on my outline, I will further work on my written draft
and make sure to add those elements needed to make the paper reliable. I plan
to seek assistance from one of my seniors in college who is a post graduate
student in my college to ensure that my writing style is appropriate for a research
paper. This will ensure proofreading for my work is done and there is minimum
chance of any error. All necessary changes to the written report will be done two
days prior to the submission. I will be relaxed on the day of submission and I will
not experience any anxiety because of incomplete work or too many tasks on the
last day.
By adhering to my above mentioned schedule and planning for completing my
research project, I am sure that I will not face too much problem in complete my
work. During college, we have to complete multiple assignment in same duration.
However, this form of careful planning will help me to manage all tasks without
any issues. I am excited about moving ahead with my research project on
‘benefits of green space in college campus’. I request you to kindly review my
proposal and give me permission to further proceed with my research topic. Your
