INTRODUCTION
Present study will prepare editorial article on common good. It will take the issue of
inadequate support from health care workers. It will focus on implications of maintaining human
dignity in the field of paramedical.
MAIN BODY
Health care professionals are responsible to provide adequate services to the patients.
They are the professionals those who have to give response on emergencies that occur outside
the hospitals immediately. Being a paramedical student it is the duty of mine is that to take care
of needed person and provides proper support to them. In the field of paramedical this is quite
concerning aspect. A patient needs to feel happy after getting treatment from the medical
professionals. There should not be any kind of activities which are against the norms or harm
human rights. Each individual has right to get high quality services in hospitals by the
professionals. Paramedical students have to fulfil their responsibilities effectively by meeting
with their medical needs.
In all health care setting authorities always give priority to human dignity and their rights.
Paramedical professionals also beautifully contribute in maintaining their dignity and common
good as well. Whenever person is in emergency then they feel sacred thus, it is duty of health
care workers that to treat them with respect and make them feel comfortable. I was the intern in
one hospital where I had to assist my supervisor. One day one emergency call has occurred when
we have to go to provide emergency services to one person who has met with accident. But at
that time I have noticed that my some of the seniors were behaving very rood with her family
members. They were not taking care of their dignity and at that time I have felt that it was not
right because it is duty of medical professional that to give respect to their family members and
other relatives. No one can behave aggressive with them.
Many times health care workers fail to perform their work well. They also face many
issues in their professional life related to salaries, too much working hours, poor workplace
environment etc. In such condition they fail to provide adequate services and support of the care
users. They behave with them aggressively and do not coordinate with them. In such condition
these patients also fail to discuss their problems and medical needs with these professionals
effectively. Major issue raised by patients are that staff behaving very rude with them and
healthcare workers does not inform them properly. Inadequate responses and long waiting time

are another major concerns of the users. The claim on inadequate care that been made by women
who was in the emergency caesarean section. She has shared her experience and said that staff
members are uncaring and they do not give respect to patients who is in emergency.
Professionals have to follow the rule of common good seriously at their working
environment. This would help in providing adequate support to the care users. When any kind of
emergency occur then person feel so afraid but at that time actions and emotional support of
doctors can make them feel happy. This aids in developing patient’s confidence and enhancing
their trust as well. No one wants to strip their human dignity. They always expect to get respect
and positive behaviour from the medical professionals. Thus, it is essential to resolve such
problems from the paramedical sector immediately. Higher authorities are required to monitor
performance of all paramedical workers closely and have to give them sufficient training so that
they understand the principles and take care of human dignity. Golden rule of “common good”
needs to be followed by all health care. If students gain knowledge about human dignity and
their rights then they can develop better relationship with the patients. But it is also essential that
all the staff members get healthy environment where they feel happy. This can boost their energy
and they can show their positive concern for patients as well.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that proper training about common goods and
principles of maintaining human dignity can be effective solution for minimizing issue of
inadequate services in the health and social care sector. By this way professionals can understand
important of maintaining human dignity and they provide quality services to the users.
