Introduction
Communicable diseases are the ones, which are commonly spread by infection
through the environment. It can be passed from one person to another, thereby requiring swift
action to reduce the risks associated with it.
List of the most communicable diseases in Saudi Arabia
Cholera, Typhoid, Jaundice are the diseases, which commonly spread from food and
water.
Influenza and Tuberculosis are mostly spread through Air.
Malaria is spread from Mosquito.
These are the most communicable diseases in Saudi Arabia faced by humans and
animals every year.
Novel Coronavirus (2019 nCOV)
This strand of novel coronavirus had never been previously identified in humans; and
till now doctors and scientists have not been able to find out the real reason behind the spread
of novel coronavirus. Due to this, a possible cure for the disease has not been found till now
(Chiasson & Dowdy, 2019). Coronavirus initially started in Wuhan, China; but now the
outbreak has become a new global threat as it has spread in many countries including Italy,
USA, Hong Kong, Australia, Nepal and South Korea (National Autority, 2020).
Protection measures
To protect against these communicable diseases, certain measures are required, such
as wearing a protective mask, washing hands, and raw vegetables before use, and drinking

clean water in general. In order to prevent from nCOV, maintaining at least 1m distance from
the person who is sneezing or coughing and avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth are
some measures that one should follow. This would help in stopping germs that spread from
one person to another; hence, ensuring community safety.
