Common challenges and barriers in effective communication
Enforcement of Brexit is the reason behind various challenges and barriers to communication
in Mr. Fishy as the staff in the company are coming from different cultural backgrounds and
age groups. There perception, beliefs, objectives and expectations are different from each other
which creates conflicts and arguments in the restaurants. Some barriers faced by the Mr. Fishy
are as follows:
Divergence in point of view: There is a difference in the perception of people their
attitude, thinking, beliefs and goals they want to achieve in a particular company. Mr.
Fishy also require from its personnel to do their best but contrasting perception and
goals create a roadblock in achieving company goal. These barriers create difficulty in
maintaining efficiency in the business and increase profits (Brink and Costigan, 2015).
Culture and language barrier: Due to enforcement of Brexit (separation of UK from
European states), there was stress prevailing between non-British and British staff
(Bovée, Thill and Raina, 2016). There was a cultural variation in between the
employees as they try to show that their culture is superior from other and not try to
understand that they have to work together to achieve goals of the company. There is
also language barrier which create challenge in communication. Due to culture
difference conflicts develop and company is not able to achieve its business goals.

. Mr. fishy need to apply different strategies to get over
communication barriers which are as follows:
Manager of Mr. Fishy need to communicate all the
information clearly to every one and there should be open
communication in the company so that employees can put
their doubts and thoughts.
Company also need to improve its workplace

communication and it is popular as it is easy and cost

Mr. fishy need to aware its staff members about the
culture and its difference among the employees so that
they treat each other with respect and value each other
culture's which will lead to increase in productivity as
they work with mutual understanding.
It is said that people of UK are polite, and they
mind their own business whereas the British people like
to interact with each other and build relation thus, all the
staff members need to consider their attitude and then
communicate with each other. This will lead to better
coordination and understanding among them and
decrease conflicts and barriers of communicating with
each other. Thus, it is said that culture influence the
workplace environment and people need to be aware of
the culture of every employees working in the
organization (Bovée, Thill and Raina, 2016).
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been summarised that Mr fishy restaurants who serve chips and fish are
facing a problem related to their communication and how they can effectively break the barriers of
communication are in three different stages in main body.
