INTRODUCTION
Communication is important process in organisation as it helps in sharing of crucial
information from one person to another thereby contributing in performing several task in best
possible manner. Open communication with organisation helps in effectively coordinating
diverse individuals to work together as a team for desired objectives. The purpose of making
report is to understand role that communication plays in firm, to understand key barriers in
learning English UK and the way they can be removed for bright future. Therefore, the report
has contained theories related to organisational communication; evaluated related barriers of
communication at learn English UK and identified key strategies that could helps in overcoming
the barriers.
1. General theories of organisational communication
Communication is process or act of exchanged information from one individual to
another with use of symbols, sign or any other method. There are various theories related to
organisational communication which can be explained as follows:
Formal communication: Many of the large organisations with number of employees make use
of formal communication channel to share necessary information so that no point can be missed
in any circumstances. Official information many flow through proper or predefined channel and
routes by manager so that it can be reached to each and every individuals that is working in the
organisation. In formal communication, the information flow from top to down that is from
senior executive to lower employees so that each can be aware (Ihlen and Heath, 2018).
Therefore, it is most effectively communication theory that helps in systematic transfer or flow
of information from one person to another.
Standpoint theory: It emphasis that each individual within organisation is seated at different
ranks and position so they communicate with each other on basis of ladders or post in the firm.
Therefore it also stated that lower individuals have more knowledge as compared to people that
are at higher post. It is useful as it helps in clearly distributing of information to employees as per
their role, position and power in the enterprise.
Oral communication: In this theory of organisation communication oral method such as sign,
symbol or language is used to share information from one individual to other employees that are
working in firm. Such as in meeting manager orally communicate employees about future plan,

by employees for the same (Daylight, 2017). Oral communication is important as it helps in
providing greater services to customers by effectively communicating necessary information
about the organisation and its products.
7 C : It specify about 7 principle of communication such as clear, correct, complete, concrete,
concise, consideration and courteous. The first thing is that information exchanged need to clear
and easily understand by receiver and the language used should be correct with no grammatical
or spelling mistake. It should also be completed with all necessary information so that no
chances of vague can be arrived thus it need to be point to point or precise. At the same time
sender while communicating needs to consider background and mindset of recovered so that it
can be positive received. Therefore, 7C organisation communication is crucial as contributed in
exchanged of information in most effective manner.
Internal or external communication: Organisation needs to share information within firm as
well as outside in order to delivered best services to customers and expand its operation. Internal
communication is between employees or subordinate and senior regarding task can be completed
or the way goals can be achieved (Neuman, 2016). While external communication is exchanged
of information to outsider or interested stakeholders like customers, suppliers and government.
2. Evaluation of barriers of communication at learnEnglishUK
It can be stated that there are several barriers of communication at learnEnglishUK such
as physical barrier, perceptual barriers, emotional, information retention ability and language
barriers. Such as:
Physical barrier: It is most common barrier of communication at learn English UK as there may
lot of noise and disturbance at the place that created problem in understanding and effectively
sharing information. Physical barrier include use of faulty equipment, more noise that lead to
misinterpretation of shared information. Therefore, improper environment or physical place is
provided to individuals to learn English also act barrier in communication.
Perceptual barrier: It is identified that different individuals have different perspective, beliefs

ready to listen and learn thus they can easily taught that English. On the other hand, people that
have negative attitude are less interested to learn that same thus it resulted in one of the barrier

comfortably and easily understands the information. Individuals have different emotions at
different times such as may feel anger, sad and fear so all these can acts as an barrier in effective
communication (Tufte, 2017). Such as due to sadness or anger or fear of individuals it cannot

Information overload and lack of clarity: There may be chances that the information shared
related to English UK learning is provided in more quantity or has lack of clarity in another term
lot of confusion. More than required information related to English UK is shared that resulted in

Some of the suggestions are discussed below as:
Firstly in order to remove physical barrier, all noise or disturbance needs to be avoided so
that clearly information can be exchanged and English UK can be learned. 7 C theory can
be used to remove physical barriers as person by ensuring that clear, consistency,
complete and courteous information needs to be delivered to end individuals.
Secondly, for overcoming perceptual barrier through oral communication the teacher
must understand belief, perception of individuals in order to find best possible manner to
teach English UK. Oral communication contributed in better understanding of other

individuals thus identifying best course of action which could be fruitful in learning
English.
Thirdly, Attitude is barrier of effective communication which could be removed through
using standpoint theory which clearly stated that individual needs to communicate with
each other related to its position (The Seven Barriers to Great Communications, 2019).
So, barrier of attitude can be easily remove by promoting flow of communication through
position of individuals so that people has less ego or negative attitude towards the same.
The above study helps in understanding that emotion is also barrier in communication
that lead to problem in learning English UK. Therefore the person sharing information
needs to undertake mindset, emotion of receiver at particular time so that information can
be presented in better manner.
At last it can be suggested that there are key action needs to take in order to ensure clarity
of information so that right information can be provided to receiver in right form. Thus,
both 7C and formal communication theory could be fruitful in overcoming the challenged
of overloading information. As formal communication lead to systematic flow of
information thus all learning related to English UK are given to other in sequential others
so that it can be understand in better manner. It is also suggested that continuous
feedback need to be taken from learner or receiver in order to ensure that they are capable
of understanding the information to learn English UK.
