INTRODUCTION
Communication is termed as an exchanging of information or message among two
individuals or more than of it by using communication channels. It is significant for a person to
have effective communication skills as it assist in developing relationship with others and also
help in gaining understanding about others opinion in a proper manner (Thompson, 2018). There
are many barriers arise due to ineffective communication that impact directly on the overall
performance of a person. In order to deal with such barriers, it is significant to develop effective
strategies so that it can be decline properly. The present report is based on case of Learn English
UK which is based in London and Manchester. The school is at present facing many issue
because of barriers in communication and impact negatively on students performance. The report
will cover different theories of communication and barriers of communication with the strategies
to resolve it.
MAIN BODY
Barriers of communication
Cultural barriers – It is one of the main issue as students within the school belong
various culture. In addition to this, it is determined that respective school is not able to align as
well as understand different culture of students.
Lack of channels – It is consider as another communication barrier as it is identify that
there is no string Wi-Fi in school. It enable students to communicate with others properly and
effectively.
Language barriers – In school, students belong from different culture & have different
language that male them unable to understand viewpoint of others in an appropriate manner.

General theories of organisational communication
There are various theories of organisational communication which are used by companies
foe enhancing performance and for effective communication as well. The theories is given below
in relation to Learn English UK:

Agenda Setting Theory – This communication theory stares mass media association
analyse what does general population undertaken to be worthy. In addition to this, it usually done
by deciding the amount which a new story stores.
Actor-Network Theory (ANT) – This theory mainly suggest that both humans as well
as non-human factors equally impact on success of innovation & knowledge development. In
addition to this, it primarily focused in how networks are developed and contribute towards
success. So, it is said that both network and an actor is equally responsible for achieving
outcomes (Son, 2019).
Communication Accommodation Theory – The respective theory describe that it is important
for an individual to adjust their own style according to communication styles of others. It is
determined that such changes take place in two ways that is verbally & non-verbally (Ololube,
Agbor and Kpolovie, 2018). These are termed to as convergence and divergence, herein
convergence is used in order to highlight the powerless person and divergence is mainly used by
people belong from a group.
Thus, these are some of the theories of communication which can be executed in an entity
for improving performance and profitability as well.
Recommendations
The respective school is suggested to execute different effective communication channels
so that students can communicate in a proper manner (Selvi, 2019). In addition to this, it is
recommended to Learner English UK to install a good and string Wi-Fi network that leads to
proper communication. It is important for the senior authorities of school to take feedback from
the students so that they can fulfil their requirements and stop them to leave school. It is
recommended to develop good relationship with students by focusing on communicating and
interacting with them in a proper manner (Springham and Huet, 2018). Moreover, it is
recommended that school should conduct cultural activities as it will help in promoting and
making understand to students about different culture which in turn decline cultural barrier.
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it has been concluded that effective communication is one of
essential aspect that has direct impact on performance of an individual and company as well. In
addition to this, there are various issues arise because of communication and also there are some

barriers that enables proper communication. It is important for an association to develop an
effective strategy and ensure that communication is effectively take place as it help in improving
performance and efficiency as well.
