INTRODUCTION
Communication can be described as process that allow them to share their ideas, opinion,
views and ideas to another person. It is an important component that allow organisation to make
informed decision (Bannier, Pauls and Walter, 2019). This project report includes analysis of
Brit-tech which is an IT organisation that has their employees working from their home and now
they are planning to rejoin their employees. This project report includes discussion of general
theories of organization communication. It includes evaluation of barrier of communication and
strategies to overcome of these barrier.
MAIN BODY
Discussion of general theories of organisation communication
There are various theories of communication which assist to make communication
process more smooth and efficient. Explanation of these theories are mentioned below:
Act theory of communication: It is a communication theories that was introduce by
American Psychologist John R Anderson. It is based on adaptive concept of thought that is
cognitive architecture. It is a mode that is made of process as well as understanding for
acquisition of knowledge and information. It includes concept that all task is performed by
human that consist different process and steps (Chen, Davison and Ou, 2020). This model that is
based on these process which occur in minds of a person and also looks like programming
language. It is based on assumption of human nature that is derived through numerous
experience and experiments. It consist different components like modules, pattern matcher as
well as buffers.
Communication accommodation theory: It is a theory that emphasis on adjustment
made by people at time of communicating. It was given by Howard Giles who is a professor at
University of California in field of communication. It is a theory that describe that it is a human
tendency to make adjustment in behaviour at time of interaction. There are various reason behind
act and behaviour which is explained through control of social differences among interactant.
Communication activities accommodate by people in order to get approval that also develop
positive image among interactant. Communication behaviour is also affected with environment
in which people interact.

Cross culture communication: Culture can be described as ways of thinking as well as
living where a person picks their set of values, norms, attitude as well as belief these can be
reinforced and taught through group members. It includes basic assumption and solution for the
problem (Naidoo and Dulek, 2022). It is passed from generation to generation in order to ensure
survival. It is the communication among people who are facing differences related to age, race,
gender, style of working, sexual orientation and many more. It is an attempt that is made to
negotiate as well as mediate, exchange as well as other culture differences including language.
Body language as well as gesture.
Cultivation theory: It is a theory that was introduced by George Gerbner and according
to this theory, people who likely to watch television will be influence through message from
world of television. It can be influenced with an extent that world has different perception as
well as view that reflect things on different basis. As per this theory, media is generally present
image of work that does not showing reality.
Evaluation of barriers of communication which made employees unwilling to return to office
Due to outbreak of covid-19, Brit-tech is operation their operation in virtual environment in
which employees are allowed to work from their home. It create various problems related to
barrier of communication and due to which employees faced different barriers of
communication. There are various barrier occur in organisation which in organisation of Brit
tech and explanation of it is mentioned below:
Physical Barriers: It is a barrier of communication that prevent an individual from interpret on
non-verbal cues. It is common barrier that occur in communication process that depend on
technology instead of face to face. It occur due to old equipment used for communication,
background noise, uncomfortable temperature, poor lighting (Pikhart, 2018). At time of Covid-
19, employees of Brit-Tech are working in uncomfortable environment and due to which people
needs to work from their home and due to network issues and other issues, problems are faced by
people.
Emotional barrier: It is another barrier of communication in which one of both listener as well
as speaker prevent effective communication. It is complex process to put things aside and also
not act for emotion which is important. In order, one needs to identify what topics, words trigger
emotion of another person and managers needs to create plan according to it that helps them to
manage things. Due to covid-19 outbreak, employee of Brit-tech are isolated and are not

communicate with their fellow colleagues due to which problem occur in organisation as they
feel upset and depress that create barrier for communication.
Organisational structure barrier: There are some companies which has unclear structure that
make communication process more difficult. For instance, these have ineffective information
sharing as well as communication system in which employees are not aware about their
communication role (Sapkota and Vander Putten, 2018). There are some companies which has
complex structure as they has lot of level of management in which information is lost as well as
distorted as they needs to travel through different layer of hierarchy. In Brit-tech, employees
needs to follow proper hierarchy for communicating with seniors related to problems faced by
them and due to which they are not comfortable to coming back to office.
Perceptual barrier: It is another category of barrier in which there are different opinions as well
as views that reduce objectivity. In this, a person can open a conversation due assumption that
listener are not able to understand and also uninterested about what they are saying that lead to
unintentionally harming of message like dismissive language and also trying to be humorous.
Interpersonal Barrier: These are the barrier that occur with negative pattern of behaviour that
does not allow a person to communicate with other person and also discourage them from
communicate (Schartel Dunn and Lane, 2019). These are the barrier that occur at time of covid-
19 outbreak when employees of Brit-tech are not able to go out and does not get opportunity to
interact with other person.
Brit-tech strategies to overcome of these barrier
There are various strategies which can be adopted by managers of Brit-tech in order to bring
their employee back in their organisation. These techniques allow managers of company to
communicate with their employees and also allow them to interact in effective manner. These
communication strategies also allow them to provide proper guidance to employees that will
improve performance of employees. There are various barrier occur in process of communication
that does not allow employees to perform in effective manner. In order to overcome of these,
Brit-tech can adopt various strategies which are mentioned below:
Use of proper language: Language is one of important components in process of
communication. Language should be used by employee in a manner that allow them to share
message to employees (Stadler, 2019). Managers of Brit-tech should be used effective language

in order to share their message and ensure that this language can be understandable for all
employees. It allow them to provide proper guidance to employees that is important for them.
Feedback: It is another strategy which is important in order to overcome of barrier of
communication. Feedback is another important component that is taken in context of ideas and
opinion shared by manager of company. These feedback allow managers of Brit-tech to make
improvement in their policies and strategy and allow them to motivate employees to rejoin of
office.
Needs to specific about information: In order to improve communication efficiency, it is
important for Brit-tech to be specific about information (Tripathy, 2018). It is important for
management to avoid unrequited information that is important as it allow them to provide
assistance to worker in order to know their ideas as well as functions in effective manner. It is
important for a person to share actual ideas as well as function that is important for them.
Understand employees: It is important for an organisation to understand their employees in
order to get their support and also to improve barrier of communication with employees. It allow
managers of Brit-tech to understand problems faced by employees and solve these problems in
order to motivate employees to come to office.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that communication is one of
important component in an organisation that allow members of company to share their ideas,
problems, thoughts, views and opinion on something. There are various theories of
communication which can be adopted by managers in order to make communication process
more smooth. There are various barrier occur in process of communication and in order to
overcome of these barriers, managers of company needs to adopt different strategies.
