Communication is most important process that helps in sharing of ideas, views and opinion form one
individual to others for effective performance of particular task. It helps in building strong relationship and better
understanding between people that belong to different culture and tradition.
Barriers in effective communication
There are various barriers in effective communication that need to be
removed for better exchange of information and ideas to others. Different
barriers in communication are as follows:
Language barrier: Different individual have different languages and
perspectives as they live in different social background. Therefore individual
must have knowledge about different language in order to easily share its
views to other people (Brooks and Pitts, 2016). There are words that have
similar meaning so person needs to avoid use of such words while
communicating with different individual.
Culture barrier: People belong to different culture and tradition so
communication should be as per culture of receiver so that it can easily
understand meaning of information.

Strategies to overcome communication barrier
Different strategies to overcome various challenges that are faced in exchanging information are as
follows:
Avoid words that have similar meaning: Communication should avoid use of words that have similar meaning
in order to remove confusion so that receivers can understand meaning within limited time and efforts.
Awareness of culture: Increase in awareness about each other culture, tradition and preference can helps in
effective communication or exchange of opinion from one person to other so that better outcome can be gained

Clearly state information that needs to be communicated: Sender should ensure that information exchange
needs to be simple, straight forward so that receivers can make effective utilisation of information.
Open mind: Receiver should be opened so that information exchange can be understood in similar manner as
intended by sender of information.
Awareness of culture influence on communication and negotiation
Different cultures have different words, body language and gestures therefore individual need o be aware
of each other culture in order to effectively communicate. Individual through knowing each other culture and
tradition can effective communicate with different people. Thus, culture awareness lead to reduction of conflicts
and helps in building strong relationship and better understanding between receiver and sender of information.
Most of the people are comfortable and happy to communicate in their own language so that culture awareness
promotes better communication and negotiation (Shaffer and et,.al., 2018). It helps in better interaction and better
understanding of each other ideas so that negotiation can be avoided and better communication can be enhanced.
Therefore it can be stated that culture awareness influence communication between individual and negotiation.
