INTRODUCTION:
It is very important to develop personal skills for individual growth and development.
These skills help in better work performance and effective team work. It also brings
improvement in behaviour and skills. Proper communication and skills is useful in gaining more
knowledge and experience. Team is necessary to complete task in effective way by using
available resources and work force. By collaborating with each other individual can focus on
how completing task in creative way. Also, it enables person to take in decision making to share
his views and ideas. This report will reflect on communication and collaboration helps an
individual in team working. It analysis Gibbs reflective cycle to describe working of an
individual in team. Furthermore, a personal development plan is made that reflects upon
strengths and weakness of person (Shah and Leeder 2016.)
TASK 1
A) Gibbs reflective model
It was established by professor Graham Gibbs in his book Learning by Doing in 1988
This model reflects upon how an individual personal feelings influences in different situations. It
shows that person feeling and behaviour changes according to situations and task allotted to him.
It breaks reflection into evaluation of events and analyse if there is link between event occurred
on future activities or not. It shows about person reflection on its thinking. A person should not
make assumptions about experience rather than looking different perspectives (Zeng 2017) It
will be useful in practising activities. It describes various levels of steps to analyse situation:-

to work in team and what reflections was made by me.

Step 1 Description- I and my team members was given project on doing research and giving
presentation on how e -commerce is affecting small and medium enterprises. In this task two
activities was to be done , first doing research and second giving presentation in a seminar. So
for this I was selected in activity of presentation giving. Along with me five members was also
there. I created presentation and others role was to help me (Pankiewicz 2015). The result was
not what I expected because we were not able to give answer to questions that was asked by
people while giving presentation. This made us all blank for minute and our morale went down.
Step 2 Feelings- This situation clicked in my mind when I was involved in similar task. It was
because I knew that what has happened to me before. When event started I was very exited
because I was again given responsibility of giving presentation. I gave my 100% in this. It made
me feel like I was perfect in doing this. Therefore, all of my colleagues appreciated me and I was
recognised in front of whole management of the company. Now, I think that I am able to give
presentation in any big seminar, workshop, or campaign.
Step 3 Evaluation- There is always a positive and negative results of every situation. Hence, in
this situation positive result was that it helped me and others to boost up my confidence and
improve my communication skills (.Hinds and Payne 2017). Moreover, we were ready to take

of team leader. But, on the other hand team member were not able to properly communicate with
each other due to lack of confidence. To solve this problem an evaluation was done to measure
performance of members. It was done to enhance their skills and working to avoid happening of
similar situation in the future (Ellis 2016) Members were allotted task based on their skills. This
helped them to effectively work in group.
Step 4 Analysis- We gave an extra ordinary presentation in seminar. It was all because of
effective team work and understanding. The success of event was because each member were
given task according to their skills. For example- one person who was good in content writing
was given role of writing content of task, I was good in giving presentation so I was chosen for
this task. I did it well because of proper practise and preparation. But main was that went wrong
was not having enough knowledge about questions that was asked. For this we must have
prepared notes. These notes would be useful in giving answers. I gave answers to people based
on content written. It was very difficult for me in giving answers as I was not prepares for it. The
research team did not provide as enough data and information.
Step 5 Conclusion- We should have communicated with research team to provide us all the data
and information. Or I must have read more about company before presentation. This might have
been an excellent event for all of us. Other member should have properly collaborated about this.
Hence, before giving presentation on any topic notes containing all information must have been
made. If similar situation occurred I will be ready to answer it because I will have a brief reading
on particular topic (Larson 2014). For this I must develop skills of reading and communicating
with others. Furthermore, I can develop leadership skills to provide guidance to others on how to
accomplish task in creative way.
Step 6 Action Plan- In this stage t shows that how others and I will deal with similar situation
again in the future. For this an action plan is develop that will help in reflecting on our actions.
As a team leader in will develop a plan in which all will be given their duties and roles. I will
ensure that make sure that nothing gets wrong. Moreover, communication has to made easier in
order to increase collaborative working. Also, other actions will be measured to focus on their
reflections. A development plans implemented will bring change in team working and getting
effective results (Brindley 2017).

CONCLUSION:
From this assignment it is concluded that to work in a team it is important to have proper
communication and collaboration with each other. A little mistake done by anyone can lead to
effect the outcomes of entire team. I was encountered in situation while giving presentation as I
was not able to give answer of questions asked. Apart from this I am not able to find solutions of
problems. Therefore, for improving these skills a personal development plan is made. It
determines my strengths and weakness of skills that I possess. This plan will help me in
identifying my weakness and providing suggestions to improve it.
CONCLUSION:
From this assignment it is concluded that to work in a team it is important to have proper
communication and collaboration with each other. A little mistake done by anyone can lead to
