INTRODUCTION
Communication is defined as the process by which various kind of information are shared
among different individual with the help of different symbols, signs and even behaviour too
(McCroskey, 2015). It is necessary because it helps to clarify the things which any of the
individual wants to express with someone. The chosen organisation for this particular task is
Hilton Resort Hotel UK. It is one of the five star hotel which deals in different part of world to
deliver the world class services to its customer. In context of the file, task two will be addressed
in which major focus will be on recommendations and guidances which is required to be given
to subordinates and various kind of barriers which is required to be faced by hotel.
TASK 2
Facilitate inter departmental cooperation
There are different roles and responsibilities which is required to be fulfilled by any of
the organisation and for that it is necessary that work must be distributed as per the skills and
capabilities that individual have. In context of Hilton Resort Hotel, communication is one of the
most important task which they are required to have in easy and smooth manner so that
organisation can find the best possible way to accomplish its target on specific time period
(Bannier, Pauls and Walter, 2019). It is said that MD of the company should take responsibility
in it that how they need to create the environment within the organisation so that better
communication environment can be developed within the company. There are different types of
communication system that can be helpful in for Hilton Resort Hotel and they are explained
below:
Internal operational communication : It is the mode of communication system that takes
places at different level of the organisation. It is one of the way which helps to transmit the
relevant information from one department to another through which achieving organisation
goals become easy. Here, communication is done in the mode of speech, telephone call, meeting
or even face to face. Also, communication can be done through the process orders, report, letter
and many more. In this, communication becomes in various patten such as horizontal & vertical,
upward and downward conversation through which information sharing process becomes easier
and faster and even it reduced the overall cost of the company.

External operational communication: The communication process which takes place
between organisation and its supporting party is known as external operational communication.
The standard formate of this types of communication formal way which is even helpful in
maintaining the healthy relation between parties and company (Perlman, Kaufman and Speciner,
2016). It context of Hilton Resort Hotel, they will be helpful from this form of communication
process as it will help them to exchange information through which organisational goals can be
easily meet. Some of the people who are included in external operational communication are
customers, government authorities, suppliers and many more (Berkenkotter and Huckin, 2016).
The main benefit of this type of communication system is that it helps to enhance the
productivity of Hilton Resort Hotel.
Personal communication: This is one of the method of communication system which
helps organisation to achieve its target on specific time period. Even it can be said that it is one
of the integral business function that helps organisation to keep themselves productive for longer
period of time. This is not related with the operational plan but still it is said that it is one of the
effective way to develop positive attitude within the employees of an organisation. When it
comes to Hilton Resort Hotel, they are being really helpful with this form of communication
system because here authorised person can guide its subordinates that how they need to work
through which organisational goal can be accomplished easily.
Overall, it can be said that organisation communication system do have very important
role within Hilton Resort Hotel because it helps them to maintain positive and healthy relation
with the organisation through which goals and target of company are easily achieved.
Principles of effective communication.
It is said that whenever communication takes place it must be clear and understandable so
that effective result can be obtained (Brioschi and Kobayashi, 2019). When organisation is able
to maintain and do better communication then they can easily enhance their performance which
leads towards achieving the goals of company (Habermas, 2015). Some of the principle which is

Principle of clarity: Under this function, it is necessary that any of the information which

between employees and employers and it affects the organisation balance of the company.
Emotional barriers – There are some hurdle that occur because of the emotion of people.
This refers to those barriers which affect mindset and thinking process of people. It is important
for Hilton Hotel to promote and advertise its hotel and resort services to customers effectively.
The emotional aspects of employees like anger, frustration , stress and pain have to be controlled
and Hilton Hotel have to control all activities in an effective manner.
Cultural barriers – The cultural barriers are those which includes beliefs and values of
people for adverting and promoting Hilton Hotel and resort in Srilanka. There are various

about Hilton hotel and resort.
Perception barriers -There are various perception and behaviours of organisation
towards goals and vision of the company. Employers must avoid conflicts, fights and disputes in
the organisation and this helps in achieving the organisational goals and objectives in less time.
Examine communication practices to tackle barriers
There are different ways by which Hilton Hotel will overcome barriers and achieve the
goals and targets in specified time frame. These ways are listed below -
Eliminate variances in perception: Different organisations must recruit right candidates
for working in the company. This will enhance the productivity and efficiency of the company.
Skilled employees will be able to work with more dedication and hard work and achieve the
goals and targets in less time. The employees of Hilton Hotel are skilled and they provide
effective services to customers.
Active listening: This is an important tool for communicating with employees and
customers in an effective manner. People in the organisation must be effective listeners so that
there is no misunderstanding between employees and employers. This will help in controlling the
fights and disputes in the company.
Emotional State:During communication manager should make effective use of body
language so that the other person cannot misinterpret the message which is delivered by
communicator.
