Dear Ms. Jensen:
I must admit that helping unprivileged children with charitable donations and hosting events
to educate them with interventions, has been a bliss for our company, and we must thank you
for letting us collaborate with you for that purpose, on every Christmas over the last seven
years.
However, it is with utmost regret that I have to inform you that our company has been struck
with a situational crisis, and are scheduled to be merging with Colonel Rays Pvt. Ltd. on the
23rd of December of this year. The merger will be a lengthy and complex process, with
management and subordinates having to extend their support and effort to ensure a smooth,
meticulous and successful merger. Therefore, I am afraid that we would not be able to be
present during the Christmas season at your school this year.
We did consider the date of the merger to be rescheduled to post Christmas, solely because
the company has been unwilling to disrupt the tradition which it has been following for over
the last seven years. However, I hope you understand that decisions had to be made by both
of the companies and Colonel Rays did not agree to postponing the merger.
I would like to apologize for this disruption, but promise to resume our collaboration with
your school, next year onwards.
Sincerely,
Your name

Subject: Persuasion for Drug Testing Programs
Ms. Prufrock,
It has been reported to me that you have been considering to implement drug test programs in
the factory to make sure that workers have not been subject to drug abuse. Although I have
not received any reports of any form of misconduct which could be indicative of a possible
drug abuse, I highly recommend you that you carry on with your intentions and inform and
instruct your line supervisors accordingly, as this would provide for a highly beneficial
mitigation strategy in the factory. However, there are few things which you must consider
before proceeding with your intentions.
Firstly, you have a good reputation in the workforce of the factory, which I would not want
you to lose. Hence, communicate the plan of the program in a way which rather conveys a
feeling of care and well-being to the workers. Secondly, kindly make sure that employees do
not feel dominated under the programs, and just take it as one of the other employee benefit
programs which the company offers to them. I have word that the team cohesion at the
factory has been outstanding, which has reflected in the productivity of this quarter so far.
Hence, as much as I want your plan to be implemented, I do not want the group cohesion to
be disrupted as that might affect the ongoing factory production.
I appreciate your mitigation strategies and hope that you would implement them successfully,
abiding the instructions laid down in this memo.
Regards,
