INTRODUCTION
Business communication is defined as the process which helps business in
communicating with other individuals. Business communication is a mode of exchanging and
transferring information from one department to another within the company so that they can
perform their activities in an effective manner. With the help of this, they can gain commercial
benefits at the competitive marketplace (Guffey and Loewy, 2012). The business communication
includes various aspects like brand management, marketing, advertising, corporate
communications, etc. the different methods of business communication are video conferencing,
web based communication, telephone meetings, presentations, reports, etc. the following report
consists of luxury hotel and resort established in Srilanka. This report will include basically two
questions recommendations for facilitating inter departmental cooperation. Also this file will
include barriers of communication faced by this resort in Srilanka and also strategy for
overcoming this problem.

Inter departmental cooperation
Every organisation has to fulfil several roles and responsibilities to meet the expectations
of customers and clients. The employees in luxury hotel the workers and employees are given
tasks and activities according to their skills and abilities. Communication among employees is
the key element that cab vanish conflicts and fights and helps in increasing the smooth
functioning of the company. Also a positive work culture is important in every company for
betterment of workers and operations of the company. In case of this luxury hotel and resort of
Srilanka it is important for this company to communicate with people and tell them about this
hotel's facilities. The main executive of the company make some initiatives for developing
effective communication in the work culture as this will help in solving many issues that occur in
the company. Communication is the key element to meet goals and objectives of the company in
less time (Robles, 2012). The different type of communication system which are helpful for
luxury resort and hotel are described below -
External operational communication: External communication is a process in which
information is transfer from one company to another party in order to perform their task in an
effective manner. Communication process or method is formal in order to maintain healthy and
