 Communication plays an important role in teaching, learning and assessment. It is
important to have effective communication in the academic area to improve the
learning capabilities of students.
 There are many ways in which theories and model can be applied in teaching, learning
and assessment.
 Some of the important ways of communication are sense of humour, positive attitude
or motivation , understanding and technical skills, proper and effective body language,
etc.
 The passive behaviour source the lack of authority and on the other hand aggressive
behaviour leads to the reduction in the motivation of the individual.

Models of communication
 Models of communication can be applied in such a way in the classroom so that it can
give benefit to each and every student and improve their communication.
 Every student have their own style of learning and this must be considered by the
teacher at the time of communicating with them.
 These models or theories recognize or identified that the communication is very
important for the learning as well as for the motivation of the students.
 The behaviour of the teacher plays a vital role for the communication with the students
so the teacher must have a good and proper body language in order to have effective
communication with the learners

Principle of feedback
 It refers to the principle where feedback must be
taken from the receiver if the person has
understood the message properly or not.
 It plays an important role in the effective
communication as it reducer the barrier of
misunderstanding.
 It helps the school in taking feedback and
educational feedback can also provide by the
students that lead to the increase in the
educational quality and hence, this principle of
feedback helps in improving learning and
teaching methods.

Linear model of communication
 It refers to the communication that moves only in one
direction.
 It is majorly concerned with the three stages or steps of
the communication that include Sender, Message,
Receiver. Sender refers to the to the person that transfer
the information. Message refers to the information that
is being transferred. And receiver refers to the person
that is getting the message.
 The linear model of communication is one direction
communication.
 It can be implemented in the academic are as the
teachers can make students better understand when
they will not interfere the communication.

Lasswell model of communication

 Says What: the message
 In Which Channel: through what channel or medium
 To Whom: the audience
 To What Effect: the desired effect??
