“This is exciting! I already know what we should do. I think we should focus on Dental Health
this month as our topic. This is a great idea already and I can’t wait to start working on it.
(Angelica)
“Very exciting indeed! But I think promoting Mobility Support for senior dogs will be much
more interesting! I would love for this to be promoted this month to our clients!
(Redgelle)
"That sounds boring. Been there, done that! Sorry, hun, I've been here longer, trust me my idea is
much better. And I'm older than you, you should listen."
(Power plays are pattern of communication that take unfair advantage of another person. (DeVito
et al., 2016 pg 249). Here Redgellle is taking the undue advantage of her superiority and trying to
impose her opinion on others whom she thinks inferior)

This is not right. I know that we must choose a very different topic than this. There must be
something like the cleanliness of household pets or I guess, we must just all stock to what has
been just said by Redgelle.

Hi, Jade, I am afraid I got five minutes late, are you okay? I hope you are well too. but I knew
that you will always be there to support me and give the important information or the news if
ever I have been missing out on them.

(This shows that Redgelle and Jade are close friends and they did not pay much regard to what
the others had to say or do, this shows that there was a lack of supportiveness among each other.
Redgelle being the senior-most employees must have supported others but she was not doing so
and paying attention to only what her known contacts had to say. ‘’Several heads are better than
one’’ pg.246. The other team members that are Kulvinder, Angelica shares look among each
other but do not say anything. ''Nonverbal communication can convey a lack of power ''(DeVito
et al., 2016 pg .249). This shows that the nonverbal messages or eye contacts are important signs
to note. This shows that the right way of working in a team is to ensure that the team leader or
senior is following a people-oriented approach and also helping employees but Redgelle was
doing just the opposite)

Thank you, Jade, I know You always try to work hard and make sure that there are no pending
works and all works are being done on time. It is for this reason that I was a bit late today in the
meeting (In mentoring relationships, a trained individual helps to train a person who is less
experienced (DeVito et al., 2016 pg.245). however here, Jade is more experienced than
Angelica. However, Jade and Redgelle keep on praising each other and talking with each other
making others feel left out and particularly Angelica whos is the youngest in the system )

I believe that this is it then. We are going with the topic of Dental Health this month as our topic.
I have also seen that Jade agrees to this topic and she is one of the most hardworking employees
she would surely provide much help and support. I will finalize this topic then.

I do not see this as s a good topic since a lot of work has already been done on this and I want to
work on something new.
(Openness involves a willingness to empathize with the other. (DeVito et al., 2016 Pg.205),
Kulvinder knew that she must have helped Angelica in this situation or at least she must have
raised a voice against this worst scenario but as has the habit of keeping everything to herself she
could not say anything or could not bring a peaceful ending to the situation)

If this meeting was only to be done between you and Jade then why are we even called in the
meeting, I think that this topic is boring and does nit sounds well. Therefore I will not be
working on this topic and will also not be able to give any new or fresh ideas if I have to work on
this. I am leaving this meeting. Both of you decide the topics and carry on with the work
(Openness involves a willingness to empathize with the other. (DeVito et al., 2016 Pg.205) This
shows that there was a lack of openness among the employees and they not want to communicate
much with each other. Redgelle, Jade, and Kulvider are seniors and must have been open to each
other and also towards Angelica who is the new employee. They kept on communicating with
each other rather than lending any support to others or to follow a joint collaborative effort)
