INTRODUCTION
Communication skills is one of the most important element in academic session where
student try to communicate with peers and tutor (Ahmad, 2016). This report will discuss
communication skills and its importance for student in the higher education, importance
including team working, leadership, problem solving and memory enhancement.
MAIN BODY
Importance of communication skills to be an effective student in higher education:
Communication skills does matter when it comes to improving quality of life mainly in
higher education process where learner try to explore area of development. It is very clear that
communication skills denote confidence of student during academic session, learner with
effective communication skills have ability to complete their task inn effective manner (Buluş,
Atan and Sarıkaya, 2017). Using certain ways of communication, learner try to connect
themselves with other, interaction and listening skills play vital role in making learner an
effective communicator. There are certain methods and importance of communication skills
which help learner to become effective in higher education, these are:
Team working: When it comes to team working, communication is most important. Student
need to actively listen to their peers and adopt the words and their viewpoint, communication
skills allow student to effectively work in team and manage the task. It is very clear that team
working is only possible when student have ability to collaborate with each other, student need to
have communication skills to deliver their viewpoint to make team strong and drive towards
success.
Leadership: When learner explore higher education, they try to get leadership skills which help
them in career development process as well. Student with effective communication skills have
higher chance of becoming leader of the group, this is only possible when learner focus on
continuous improvement (Konar, 2021). Leadership skills demand learner to have effective
communication skills, leader without communication skills can never lead their team to success.
Solve problem: Communication skills are important because it helps in managing certain task
but most importantly this allows learner to solve certain problem they face. Student with
effective communication skills try to connect themselves with tutor and try to get their feedback
which allow them to bring improvement accordingly, communication help them to convey their

problem and tutor provide solution. Communication skills become important for student to be an
effective student in higher education.
Memory enhancement: Communication skills improve memory of learner and allow them to
focus on important topic of academic session. It is very clear that communication skills is used to
boost memory power and help learner to become stable. During team working or completing any
task, memory does matter, learner try to demonstrate their experience with the help of memory
they have collected. Communication help learner to become stable using memory power to solve
and complete certain intended task.
CONCLUSION
This report has discussed communication skills and its importance in higher education
and provided in depth details why communication play vital role in the higher education. At last
this report has mentioned key importance and methods of effective communication which allow
student to become effective in the academic session.
