Communication is the process which helps in sharing information ideas and creating a value from such information.
Models of communication are conceptual models which are used to explain the process of human communication and
are helpful approach for maintaining positive working scenario and work life balance in the business. Some of the
communication models are discussed below:
Berlo SMRC Model of communication- David Berlo developed the Berlo model of communication in 1961. It
consists of a sender, a message, a channel, and a receiver. The explicit procedures and motives involved in
communication between the sender and recipient are defined by this theory.
Shannon and Weaver model of communication- Claude Shannon and Warren Weaver came up with this model
in 1948. Certain mathematical ideas for communication were included in this framework.

Medium- The means via which a sender delivers a message to the receiver is referred to as the medium. It might be online or in
person.
Decoding- The receiver of the information codes the received message into a subject that he or she understands in this
procedure.
Receiver- The individual who gets the communication is known as the receiver. Feedback is the reaction that is launched at the
receiver's end in response to the message received by the sender.
Barrier- Noise is described as any physical disturbance in the backdrop that might obstruct or act as a barrier to the delivery of
a message; this can include people, the environment, or any other background disturbance.

Communication is the approach of sharing valuable information through which meaningful data can be made and
organisation can achieve their objectives. There are various types of communication methods which can be used by
an organisation some of these methods are - written, verbal, non-verbal, visual and electronic methods, such methods
are discussed underneath:
Written communication method- Written communication method is a type of communication method which
refers to printed recorded and materials, such as- memos, plans, contracts and other documents which are used for
sharing valuable information.
Verbal communication method- Verbal communication is communication method which involves exchange of
words verbally or by engaging in speaking with others.

graphic design techniques.
Electronic communication method- Electronic communication is the use of
electronic media to transfer and share the information with the help of using
email, computers, phone, fax machine, video calling and others.

There are several principles of effective communication, some of these principles are outlined below:
Have an objective/ purpose- Communication and means of communication must have an objective which is
needed to be fulfilled through which such information which is important can be shared for achievement of
organizational objective.
Stay organized- While communicating, create a goals which needed to be accomplished and regularly it. This
will help to focus on allowing people to share information effectively and manage all activities and valuable data
in a précised and systematic manner.
Carefully and actively listen- Effective communication majorly depends on effective listening skills through
which the opinions and their ideas can be understood and better insight of people can be gained.
Be clear- While communicating and transferring information, the message should be clearly defined, delivered
