INTRODUCTION
Communication in business is not only essential in order to achieve the business objectives but
also to maintain good informal relationships between employees so that it can increase the
morale and trust of employees on the business as a whole. Maintaining effective coordination is
not required only in particular class of business but is necessary for every field whether it is a
government organization, healthcare industry /
or a small venture operating in a particular country.
In order to show the importance of communication different business situations are
analysed below in the form of task1 where the Pinkershire city council is communicating the
awareness among its employees regarding the writing of road signs and task2 where a credit
application refusal is communicated to a customer leaving open door for future application.
TASK 1

In order to avoid writing blunders of road signs, and the consequences it has in the form
of accidents and a loss of reputation of the council, a special six week staff awareness
programme is being organized by the Council so that a proper guidance and tips can be given to
the employees on the pre requisites to be kept in mind while writing the road signs.
Although it is an optional programme but all employees are requested to attend this
workshop so as further facilitate their duties effectively so that future blunders regarding writing
of the road signs can be avoided. For this purpose the programme will start with a brief
description about the meaning of various road signs along with the special considerations to be
kept in mind before writing them like how the usage of bars can increase the interpretation of the
signs by elaborating this through power point presentation regarding the scenario in which those
signs should be written. This is also followed by considering the feedbacks of common public
travelling on road face an their recommendations. The second part of the programme includes a
evaluation part to test whether the employees has understand them properly concluding with the
query sessions of the participants. The programme also includes the evaluation of the results of
survey that were conducted in various age groups using different means of transport regarding
the awareness of signs and replacing the key area of their misunderstanding into an

understanding prospect. As all these steps will able to judge the actual problems and solutions
regarding the writing and evaluation of traffic signs, so all the employees are requested to attend
the programme for their personal as well as their professional development.

TASK 3 IMPACT OF BREXIT ON JK ROOFERS LTD
INTRODUCTION
With the recent exit of UK from the European union there is a major shock to the UK economy
as the major skilled and semi skilled workers employed by the various industries of UK belong
to different nations of European Union. With its exit it has lost AAA credit rating which implies
that the cost of government borrowing will now be higher coupled by a major recession(Fichtner
and Wittenberg, 2016.)The exit has severally effected the work of other European union
working with the UK and vice versa regarding the free movement rights and obtaining the work
permits for the same.
In the present context of this report major impact of Brexit on the the JK Roofers Ltd which is a
small sized construction company is seen. It has 60 percent of its skilled and semi skilled
workforce from Poland because of which Tom Clifford, its managing director is worried about
the possible effects. So the possible effects along with the measures to be adopted to overcome
the consequences are researched into, For this purpose information are gathered from the
internet from various articles related to the exit of Brexit from the European Union and the
possible effects it can have on the economies of UK and European Union.

JK Roofers being one of the prime roofing construction company who was benefiting from
employing unskilled and semi skilled person from the nations who were the part of European
Union in order to fill the gap in their company will have a negative impact on the Brexit in this
context. However in terms of skilled professionals it never had an inflow of and major skilled
persons like design managers and quantity surveyors. Although the need of professionals will be
required in every sector of UK whether it concerns medical or civil or any other field in this
regard. In order to overcome the deficiency in this matter those companies having robust
facilities and the required resources for the migration of people from other nation to UK can have
the least impact from the concerned prospective. Major construction projects are being put on
hold because of the non availability of the required personnel as per the required demand.
With the announcement of UK to leave EU, the Construction Intelligence centre has
already lowered its projection of growth from 3.4 percent to 2.8 percent(Ramiah, Pham and
Moosa, 2016) The pace of growth in the construction industry has reported a major fallback of

1.5 percent in 2017 as compared to 4 percent in the past year as there is a fall of investment in
UK. However with the Article 50 the government is still invoking the exit terms of UK from the
EU it is still difficult to say when UK will be formally out from EU. This has drastically
impacted the investor confidence on the performance of UK as a single market and
consequentially there are no new projects lined up after the exit news and the present projects are
either on hold or are being cancelled like for example major projects involving GBP55 billion
high speed-2 can be subject to further delays. Further because of the migration and tight
regulation regarding the work permits the construction activities may further delayed which leads
to the construction companies to get exposed to the outcomes of inflation regarding the increased
cost of labour and materials. Further it can face resistance in the form of import as the
construction companies in the UK are mainly dependent upon Germany, Sweden and Italy
regarding their construction materials following the post-EU trading environment the UK can
face high cost of inputs in the form of increased import duties. In addition to this housebuilders
face a sharp decline in the prices of the houses again due to shortages in labour, increased import
prices and reduced demand from the overseas market. A fall by 17 percent in the house prices is
reported by UK treasury due to Brexit announcement(Irwin, 2015)
Apart from the direct impacts expectation on the UK economy on how it will hold in
future will affect the construction industry. According to the reports UK has fallen six places to
be ranked 15th out of 50 countries in the Ti-metric's Construction Risk Index which shows the
increasing market and operating risk and a sharp declaration of economic growth(Rolfe and
Hudson-Sharp, 2016)
CONCLUSION
From the above report inferences can be drawn on the Brexit on UK that crippling lack of skilled
professionals in the country has been overlooked because of this news. Major construction
projects has come to hilt and there is a loss of foreign investment in the construction sector of the
UK. As there is a huge advantage on the construction industry of UK being part of EU, therefore
its exit has also brought major negative impact on this industry effecting its productivity on a
large scale. The other major conclusions from Brexit from EU is rise of the administrative
system due to no longer accessed of EU's coordinated VAT collection system and increased of
the import duties(Ramiah, Pham and Moosa, 2016)Loss of pass-porting financial services and

RECOMMENDATIONS
In order to reduce the impact of the Brexit construction companies should be prepared with
various attractive mitigation policies to attract labour from various European Nations. To start
conversing with the suppliers of the EU and mange its supply chain rather to wait for the last
moment. Further the construction industry should focus on growing on their own by focussing
women participation in order to meet the demands, providing various training to the people at the
school level and to the people who are interested in participating in this industry can further adds
to their smooth working and lowering the impact on them because of Brexit. The company
should adopt proper construction strategic policies in order to manage the different problems that
can accrue at various point of construction to promote innovation collaboration and a sense of
research and development culture in order to revert back to the crises in a well managed
way(Fichtner and Wittenberg, 2016 )
