Communication skill is is an ability to use the language and express information. It is a
skill's set that make able an individual to convey an information and message so that it is received
and understood. To be an effective students in higher eduction, the communication skill is very
crucial for individuals. It remove wall between the students and professors and create relationship.
With an effective communication skill, students can explain their thoughts, ideas without any
troubles and discrimination based on gender, race, religion etc (Bhagra and Sharma, 2018). the
communication skill inculcate a professionalism in ways of self expression, speaking style and
attitude towards the others and these traits hold the students in a good stead in their professional
life. This report is based on the different communication skill which are very essential in order to
be an effective student during higher education.

graduate would be selected on the basis of their communication skill during job interview. Hence
faculties and universities must ensure that the students are equipped with ability to communicate
effectively and clearly. Thee are different types of the communication which are essential pert of
the student's education. These skill make enable them to work effectively by using their learning
skills. Some of the communication skill are discussed below:
Verbal communication skill- In this mode of the communication, people speak with others. They
have free rein over word that they choose under this methods. Verbal communication is used to
define reality, think, organise and shape attitudes. It define everything from emotions, thoughts,
ideas, experience object and peoples (Chanpet, Chomsuwan and Murphy, 2020). This way of

communication. During higher education, I had developed my this skill by continue practising as
I try to speak clearly and concisely. For a best result it is important to try practising of speaking in
front of the mirror and I had record myself fro playback. In order to make the oral communication
more effective it is essential to recognise most common barriers in it. An individual or students
who is aware about their strength and weakness, they can put in required efforts in order to
improve the communication skill. Awareness of audience is another significant tool in student's
hand to be effective communicator. Tone voice of students carries a lot weight during delivery of
any message. Their confident tone keep the all audience and other person engaged, while
monotonous and low tone can be off putting. This skill can be developed through activities
including open discussion in class, presentation and many more. The oral communication is not
only ability to speak, by it is also a capacity to listen. To improve this skill, it require to speak with
confidence and in a strong voice. During communicating with other be clear and concise. An
effective oral communicator student is able to attuned to audience and calibrate their message
accordingly. In order to become an effective students, they must have an intellectual curiosity
(Ciolacu and et. al., 2018).
Non verbal communication- It is a process of conveying a message without use of any word
either spoken or written. In this method, the communication is made between two or more
individual by using facial expression, body language, postures, hand movements and gesture. This
method also help to establish and maintain interpersonal relationship (Orsini-Jones and Lee,
2018). In higher education, if the students want to become en effective or better communication,
then it is essential for them to become more sensitive with their body language. Their face should
be extremely expressive and able to convey a countless emotions to other without saying a word.
In higher education I had developed this skill by paying attention on the non verbal signals such s
eye contact, facial expression and other etc. By paying a closer attention towards people's
unspoken behaviour, all the students can improve their own ability for communicating verbally.

mindful thinking that can reduce depression and anxiety in students. It also improve the students'
relationship as they engage themselves in conversation. By listening talk shows and lectures
introduced the students to new vocabulary. It prepare them for any conversation. During listening
involve the understanding and interpretation with related content. It is important for the students
as it make enable them to understand that what they are bing taught. It help them to grab right
information and understanding about the content. A good listening skill also help them in their
future career as if they listen other person carefully, then they can get new ideas and it will be
beneficial for them a workplace. During higher education, I had work a lot to make my listening

objective. This skill can be developed through completing reports and written assignment through
academic program with in universities. By practising of this skill there is reduction in confusion
and it is very time saving. The written communication should be very simple and understand able.
A meaningful writing begin with the development of logical and clear structure to sentences so
that they flow efficiently.
Visual communication skill- In this, there is uses of graphs, photographs, maps, charts and logo
for sharing the informations. This methods is used in combination wit the verbal ad written
communication to simplify any information (Tomchek and et. al., 2018). For example using flow
charts, slides during presentation make it more easy for audience to grasp complex data. During
higher education, I had improve my this skill as I get feedbacks on my visual plans. This skill help
individuals to retain information and also create strong connection as opposed to the verbal
communication. In this, images are remembered by part of our brain which is responsible for a
long term memory. It help students to understand a complex data in easy way. This skill is
beneficial in higher education s it save time with providing a clear picture related to the relevant
information and data. By using graphs and other formate it become easy to find the information
more relatable. By learning this skill, an individual become able to catch attention of peerless
faster than the plain typed text. Well designed of this communication may help people to relate it
with part of their information. Therefore, this skill is mostly use din the higher education during
