INTRODUCTION
Quality and strength is crucial for organisation and it will lead to have significant impact
on overall performance and capability of person. It is crucial for individual to have required
skills and qualities in order to carry out set of task in more effective manner (Nyanjom 2020).
Quality of a person will assist in increase performance as well as conduct task in more effective
manner. Each and every individual have different qualities that could be consider as their
strength for enhancing performance. Through effective qualities and strength individual will be
able to gain competitive edge over other. Communication skills is one of the most significant
quality of a person to create better relationship with others along with conveying message to
other in more significant manner.

which individual transfer information form one person to other. Once individual completely

process. This is one of the most important skill that is significant for increasing performance and
capability to carry out business task in most significant manner. There are different skills which
are necessary for improving or enhancing communication qualities includes listening, non verbal
communication, stress management as well as emotion control. It is important for individual to
focus on increasing or improving communication skill in order to enhancing overall performance
(Sancho and Domingo-Coscollola, 2020). Communication is one of the most important part of
daily life and there are different approaches of communication. It is crucial that individual is
communicating well as it will assist in increasing or enhancing overall performance of a person.
Communication skills and quality will lead to have direct impact on building successful career.
This skills play essential role in personal as well as professional life of a person. Communication
process includes different steps and phases which is significant for carry out various activities in
more significant manner. Communication theory is mention below in order to gain better
knowledge and understanding about this quality.
SMCR model of communication

This model was introduced by David Berlo and motive of developing this communication
theory is to describe process of communication. As per this theory it has been identified that
communication follows form different stages. There are different factors that will have affect
over components of communication. SMCR model stands for Sender Message Channel
Receiver. Sender – This refers to the person who originate the message. This is consider as the
source of message and it includes different elements such as skill, attitude, knowledge,
social system and culture. All of these element of sender will have influence over
communication process (Knudsen and et.al., 2020). This is refer as the first stage of
communication process and in this information is created or developed. In this step,
communication skills of sender will affect over sending of message. Attitude and
knowledge will influence over to sending of information form one person to other. Message – This can be describe as the package of information that is sent by sender to
receiver. Message contain information and data which can be in the form of audio,
speech, video, text or any other form of media. The major key factors that may affect
message includes content, elements, treatment, structure and code. It is essential for
sender to form correct and accurate message which consist of required information so
that receiver can easily understand message. It is crucial that content of message is
correct and accurate with the motive of transferring it accurately. In this elements such as
language, gesture, body language and signs play significant role in order to form accurate
message. Channel – It is refer as the medium to send of convey message form one person to other.
Through channel message and information flows form one place to other. It is crucial that
individual is using correct channel of message so that information can be transmit in
smooth and most effective manner (Simonsen and et.al.., 2020). There are different
channels through which information can pass. There are five senses such as hearing,
seeing, touching, smelling and tasting. It is crucial for sender to select correct and
effective channel which is significant for transferring messages in most accurate way.
Correct channel of message will assist in timely and correctly sending information so that
receiver get correct information.

 Receiver - This can be describe as the person who will get the message. Receiver will
decode the massage and try to understand its meaning in order to get accurate
information. It is very important that receiver of needed skills and potential to understand
the message as well as use gathered information in most accurate manner (Simonsen and
et.al.., 2020). As per Berlo's model effective communication process is correctly
completed when receiver successfully understand the message and gather accurate
information. When sender and receiver are on same level then only communication
process can be successfully completed.
Explain, evaluate the quality
Communication skill is very important and it will lead to have significant impact on
performing any task. This can be describe as the ability of a person to convey or transfer message
in effective manner. It is essential that individual have effective communication skill in order to
develop strong relationship with others as well as clearly conveying message. According to the
SMCR model it has been identified that communication process includes different steps and
action which is significant for successfully passing message form one person to other. As per this
model it has been identified that there are different elements that are included in communication
process that will have direct impact in successfully and accurate transferring of message from
one person to another. SMCR model is very effective and useful for describing the basic process
of communication along with identifying role of different elements with in the process. This
model is consider as the simplest model of communication which clearly define the process of
communication as well as its different components. This theory of communication consists of
coding and decoding of messages so that it can be used in more effective way of communication.
The main components of communication include sender, message, channel as well as receiver. I
have analysed that it is crucial that sender have effective and strong communication skills in
order to carry out communication process in significant manner. it is essential that content of
message should be clearly developed so that receiver is able to successfully decode message.
Message element should be created in such as manner that it consist of information or idea that
needs to be transferred from one person to other (Lipscombe, Buckley-Walker and McNamara,
2020). Channel of communication play crucial role as it consist of the way through which
information and data pass form sender to receiver. Channel of communication consist of hearing,
seeing, touching, smelling and tasting. Receiver is the person who will get information form the

sender. It is role of receiver to successfully and accurately decode the message and get
information. It is essential that receiver also have communication skills which enhance potential
of a person to understand message. Properly knowledge of sender and receiver will lead to have
significant impact on effective and successful transferring of message as well as gathering more
accurate information (Dyrbye, Lipscomb and Thibault, 2020).
I have analysed that communication quality is my strength as it helps me in transferring
information for one person to other in more effective and significant manner. This skill is
beneficial for understanding what other is trying to say as well as code message in more accurate
manner so that receiver get complete information. I have determined that communication skill is
my strength as it helps me in clarity and concision. Through this I have good verbal
communication as well as say that is much needed. I consider this as my strength as I do not talk
much or too little and I am able to convey message in accurate amount of words which is needed
(Hailu, 2020). For example, I have assist manager in taking important business decision as well
as convey decision to other employees. In this situation I was able to transfer needed
information to manager in most significant and effective manner which assist manager in better
decision making. I was able to successfully transfer ideas in accurate way so that manager can
take most effective decision. I have also conveyed decision of manager to other employees as
well as make sure that all employees clearly understand meaning of message. Due to my
effective communication skills as well as clarity and concision in communication helps me in
correctly passing information to other employees along with this make sure that all have clearly
understand the message so that they can conduct task in required manner.

It is very important that individual have correct attributes, behavioural preferences as well
as values which assist in underpinning communication strength. These aspects will lead to have
direct impact on successfully communication process as well as capability of individual to
convey message in more significant manner. Through strong and effective communication
individual is able to develop better relationship with others as well as pass correct message to
others. I consider by attributes such as clear, concise, focus and attrition play crucial role in
effective communication. Through this individual is able to convey message in very clear and
concise manner so that others can easily understand the meaning of message as well as respond
in most accurate manner. I am very focused and pay full attention while communication and it

lead to have direct impact on successful communication process. It is very important that listener
and speaker have correct behaviour preferences in order to smoothly carry out communication
process. Listening for understanding is my behaviour preference which lead underpin this
strength. Through this it has been identified that communication is a two way process in which it
is important that receiver is correctly listening to what speaker is saying with the motive of
gaining better knowledge and information. Through my behaviour of listening properly and
understanding the message I can consider that communication skill is my strength. Values are
very important for smooth and effective communication. Through accurate values I am able to
enhance my communication skills as well as develop it as strength. I have improve my abilities
to collaborate with other is significant and effective manner with the motive of improving
communication process in successfully way (Jones, 2020). Careful and correct listening to others
is valuable for effective communication practices and it will lead to have direct impact on
effective communication process as well as correctly transformation of message.
What did you find difficult or particularly challenging in the workshop exercises and the
experiences and why might this be?
I have determined that I have faced major challenge in problem solving. Due to lack of
problems solving skills I am not be to find the most effective and accurate solution to the
problems. Due to this my capability and potential to highly perform in workshop exercises have
been affected (Avidov-Ungar, 2020). I have determined that my performance has been
influenced due to overall performance and it will have significant influence on accomplishment
of desired goals. Problem solving can be describe as the potential of a person to find and
determine correct solution that assist in overcoming or dealing with the issues in most significant
manner. This skill is important for individual as this assist in better or accurate decision making
along with the enhancing overall performance. There are different approaches and ways that
assist in increasing performance as well as developing problems solving skills. I have find it very
difficult to solve issues and problems as well as take correct decision that lead to overcome with
the problems in most accurate and significant manner (Shmeleva, 2020). Due to this challenge in
workshop my experiences is influenced and it significantly affect over the actual performance
and goal accomplishment.
Problem solving theory significantly guide and direct individual to take correct and
accurate steps which is significant for solving problems. In this individual will consider the

overall structure and way of the problems and significant deal with the issues in most effective
manner. It is essential that individual is analysing and determining overall problems which will
have impact on successfully and effective resolving of issues. By determining and analysing the
issues better solution and effective ideas to deal with the problem can be easily determined. In
this individual will take correct actions to find the solution of the problems as well as
successfully resolve issue.
Are there any contradictions evident from experiences and how might these be explained?
Yes there are contradiction evident from experiences which have influence my capabilities
and strength. I have strong communication skill and I am able to successfully convey message
and idea with others (Kenoyer, 2020). Through effective communication I am able to
successfully and correctly pass message to other and make sure the receiver is able to get
complete information about the topic. Through this I have analysed that my communication skill
is my strength and it will lead to have direct impact on my overall performance and capabilities.
Example of contradiction evident from my experiences is that given presentation regarding
project I was not able to convey ideas and message to others in most significant manner. I have
lack of confidence and public speaking capabilities that affect my overall performance while
giving presentation. I have communicated less effectively than other during the presentation and
it has influence over my communication skills. I have analysed that there are different aspects
that needs to be consider by individual while giving presentation so that audience get complete
meaning of the message. In this situation I was not able to make eye contact with audience and
not able to attract then towards presentation (Meltzer and et.al.., 2020). I have analysed that in
presentation it is very important to make connect with audience so that they get complete
information and idea about the topic. This is significant for building their interest with in the
what individual is trying to convey as well as make better connection with the audience.
How might this quality benefit you in the future?
Communication skill is one of the most important skills and it will lead to have direct
impact on effective and efficient performance of a person. There are various benefits and
advantages that could be attain by person through strong communication skills. This skill will
lead to provide various benefits in future as well as assist in attaining desired goals. Different
benefits of communication quality that will be beneficial in future is mention below

Be well understood – High and effective communication skills is beneficial for being well
understood by others (Ruslana, 2020). Through better communication skills I am able to convey
and pass on information in correct manner so that others get correct meaning of the message.
Good communication skills will assist me in explaining their ideas to others in ways which make
proper sense as well as easy to understand. I am able to correctly explain my through and ideas
to others in significant manner and this assist in resolve any type of issue or problems related to
understanding of message.
Develop better relationship – Communication skill is very important and beneficial in
order to develop better relationship with others. Through effective and strong communication
skill I am able to successfully transfer the message as well as correctly understand what others
are trying to say. I will be able to hear what other people are saying and understand correct
meaning of message. This is significant for creating better relationship with others as well as
make sure that message is properly transmitted. By effective communication I will be able to
reduce issues and conflicts with other due to lack of communication or misunderstanding. So that
skill will beneficial for me in creating better relationship with others as well as enhancing my
performance.
Increase value in workplace – Effective communication skill is beneficial for enhancing
my value with in workplace along with this promote growth and development. through strong
communication skills I will be able to develop better relationship with other along with this make
sure that I pass each and every message in accurate manner. This is significant for increasing my
values along with the enhancing growth and development. Communication skills assist me in
speaking correctly along with this maintain good eye contact with wide variety of people. This
lead to have direct impact on my overall performance as well as enhance my value with in
workplace.
Career progression – Career growth and progression is possible due to effective
communication skills. This will lead to have major impact on successfully accomplishment of
personal and professional goals (Williams and et.al.., 2020). In future while working in
organisation I will be able to significant meet with requirement of employers through strong
communication skill along with contribute maximum with in organisation. This will assist in
increasing opportunities related to work and get progress in my career. This will lead to have
direct impact on personal as well as professional growth of individual.
