1SUMMARY OF COMMUNICATION QUIZ SCORE
The results of the communication quiz shows that I am a person with positive communication
skills but I need some improvements. I am good with passing on messages to others but there
are some issues with my style of communication that causes hindrances. I am in need of
feedback from the people I communicate with because effective feedback will make sure that
I know the areas where I need to improve my skills. My strengths lie in delivering the
message to others and picking up the correct channel for the message to travel so that it
reaches to the intended audience. It is very essential to select a proper communication
channel so that the content of the message creates a connection with the desired audience.
The improvements are to be done in terms of the creation of the message that has to be
delivered. It is essential that the message that will be given out is well constructed so that the
receivers can decoded the information. I need to work and make sure that I lend my ears to
people who are speaking to me. Attention has to be provided and I need to clearly understand
the message that has been conveyed to me so that I can respond to the message perfectly. The
focus should be given on planning a message before it is conveyed to others; this will make
sure that people clearly understand the information. I will overcome the shortcomings in my
nature by increasing my level of patience in communicating with people. I need to be more
respectful to the opinions of others as feedback is necessary for improving my
communication skills. Preplanning of the message on my part should be done so that a clarity
is achieved in the information and people can easily decipher it.
In professional it is essential to make sure that the both verbal and non verbal
communication skills are functional at the same time. The non-verbal cues are very essential
as it leads to people generating a perception towards an individual (Burgoon, Guerrero &
Floyd, 2016). If ignorant body language is kept in the work place then the people will
perceive the individual as someone who full of ego and closed in nature. Positive gestures
mean a lot in the workplace. A smile and a greeting at the beginning of the day to people

whom an individual encounters in the office will make sure that people regard that person as
someone with a positive vibe. The use of proxemics is essential in the workplace; it is about
how comfortable people are around the individual. The idea of having a space and bridging
the space in appropriate time is essential to succeed in the workplace because of the
professional nature of the relationship that exists in the workplace (Leathers & Eaves, 2015).
The presentation skills are a must in the modern day workplace because individuals often
have to face situations where they need to communicate with a group of audience in order to
deliver a message.
