INTRODUCTION
Marketing is a process, group of practices or activities and
procedures for creating, communicating, delivering and
exchanging offerings that have value for consumers, target
audiences, partners and society at large (Cateora and et. al.,
2020). This report is supported to challenges and barriers to
effective communication, strategies for overcoming
communication and cultural influences on communication and
negotiation.
Common challenge and barriers to effective communication
There are several challenges and barriers to effective
communication, some of them are defined as under:
Cultural differences- It the main and foremost barrier and
challenge that highly affect the communication. It occur as a
barrier because there are several people in a firm and belong
from different culture and region, cause of which they prefer
different languages in their communication which create a
barrier in making effective conversation among employees and
management within the venture.
Physical barrier- It is another barrier that is occurred cause of
lack of physical interaction and making communication by using
communication tools like email, phone call, chat box and
message etc. Sometime these tools are not able to provide
effective information that generates challenge regarding
communication.
Develop strategies for overcoming communication
There are several plan of action that can be used and adopted by
London Tube to get over communication barriers. Some of them
are defined as under:
Use of simple language- By using simple and clear words
that should be emphasized. Utilisation of ambiguous words
and jargons should be avoided for making effective
communication.
Active listing- By listening attentively and carefully the
challenge of communication can be minimised. By
developing the ability of active listing this barrier can be
overcome (Armstrong and et. al., 2018). By hearing message
with proper understanding and asking the questions to the
speaker, the London Tube and get over the issue of effective
communication.
Proper media selection- The person should effectively
choose the medium of communication. By conveying simple
messages orally and verbally by making face to face
interaction (Andreasen, 2018). Apart from this, effective tools
of communication like chat box, email and others can be used
in appropriate manner.
Awareness of cultural influences on communication and
negotiation
Culture includes in patterned ways of thinking feeling and
reacting, obtained and transmitted mainly by symbols
constituting the distinctive accomplishment of human groups,
consisting their embodiments in artefacts, the essential core of
culture includes of traditional thoughts and especially their
attached values.
Each negotiation is a cross cultural exercise and
culture affects diverse varieties of negotiation differently
depending on such components as the particular objectives,
the number of parties and the level to which the cultures clash
or harmonize one another (Thompson, 2018).
The way in which culture affect communication and
negotiation, like values, attitude, beliefs, ethnicity, nationality,
religion, profession and occupation, are further complicated
since individuals differ in the level to which they exhibit
cultural impacts
CONCLUSION
This has been summarised form the above information that
effective communication is better for a form for the effective
running its business. There are several kinds of challenges and
barriers that create influence over the effective communication
and influence the understanding and listening ability of people.
